I think the easter egg might be the cow plant eating a Sim drawing on the snack-bag. It feels like it's small enough for many people to miss and enough of an in-joke for the Sims community to be a fun thing to find if you're an avid Sims fan.

the backpack storage made me think about how you could play a divorced parents storyline, and the kid packs up all their toys and stuff in their bag to go over to the other parents house!

I'd love to see Lilsimsie do a cowplant dedicated room or build. I play a sim who has an entire room dedicated to cowplants and cowplant build objects. As a fellow enthusiast of cowplants I know shed do it right.

I hope they fix the lunchbag because I need a way for toddlers to grab a quick meal on their own.

It would have been nice if the old lunchbox got updated too with new colours and it also worked like the new one does.

This is an off-the-grid functional cooler (currently only available from Outdoor Retreat & Toddler Stuff I believe) that you can take with you... wherever you go... for less than the cost of the cooler. This item is understated & epic. And I LOVE that the backpacks serve some sort of function now. Even if you leave it on the kid's floor, you can story tell with stashing their diary or a favorite toy or some books or whatever in there. AND, if you have tons of things in your inventory you don't want to accidentally sell... it's nice to stash them in the bag. NOW, I'm wondering if you can put the lunch box in the backpack.

I'd have homework in my kids inventory and then buy a spare homework to keep in their backpack in their bedroom and then they have spare and I can see it easily lmao

One of the bags has a skull on it. It could mean either a Funeral/Death Pack (crossing my fingers) or perhaps pirates/boats (it looks like a jolly roger).

I hope they fix the toddler interaction with the lunch box because I was excited at the idea of keeping the lunchbox in my toddlers inventory so they have access to snacks

I think the easter egg might be the angry face next to the space patch--it's a reference to Spore, another Maxis title! The angry face is the icon for the "hostile" relationship, which is most commonly associated with the Grox, the antagonists of the Space Stage, who always start out as hostile.

I feel like something realistic that the sims could do with the backpacks inventory situation is maybe a sim has homework in the backpack but left the backpack at home so they get in trouble at school or something for leaving their homework at home.

I noticed that the many of the social interactions with horses involve science, like "discuss the origin of the universe" or "discuss the possibility of time travel" which makes me think that either the rocket ship lunch box and/or the alien scribble on the backpack could be an easter egg hinting towards something new. I wonder if we're getting an "into the future" pack, or maybe a get to work refresh?

You could totally do a "Rags to Riches - on the Go" playthrough where you travel with your lunch box and always have food with you!

Honestly, this update comes just in time for me. Currently decorating an apartment for my sim and her daughter, and that watermelon swatch fits her room perfectly. Also always nice to have some basic swatches, too. I wish they'd add more shelving/tables/etc. that fit in corners. I often find myself wanting a little display cabinet or something to sit in the corner of a room, but none of the ones already in the game work with the aesthetic. I don't have access to CC or anything, otherwise it probably wouldn't be such an issue.

I love this! I always like adding a personality to rooms by hinting at their interests with clutter items. Having more than 5 swatches on those backpacks + actual storage functionality is so useful! ❤

RVSN has had a toddler lunchbox mod forever that works exactly like these only just for toddlers. Bizarre that toddlers can't use the base game one. Also... why is anyone complaining that this item wasn't paid content locked in High School Years rather than getting it for free for base game?

That facility sign swatch with the arrow is great! I'm definitely putting it in my Huehuetl house. It's a vertical house that looks like a huehuetl drum. I currently have the other big arrow wall decal in there, but this sign looks better.

I adore this lunchboxes and school bags! I love how they match and how functional they are, and that's even free! I absolutely adore this SDX drop! I love all designs of them, the watermelon is my favorite though and the cowplant is funny too

I think the children being able to use the backpack/lunchbox might indicate an elementary school pack?

I feel like it would be cooler and keep the game more challenging if you had to stock the lunchbox with food and if it was all gone, or even spoiled, you cannot get snacks out of it. But I love more swatches can they fix and add more 😭

The thing that now really angers me with this type of stuff is learning how easy it is for them to do Once LBY showed us how you can easily just go into and item such as a bush and make it work like a toilet I’m not like okay so this was an easy thing to do for items like the picnic baskets already… and I’m sure then having it so sims will eat that during the day like a bagged lunch would be the same level of difficulty for them

The lunchboxes working like fridges makes me genuinely so happy! There is always a small amount of stress when one of my sims goes to school and didn’t eat breakfast. Or I had them make a sack lunch and then they leave it behind! It not only fixes that small issue but gives it a cute way to fix it!

I feel you with the unfortunate birthday date. Mine was usually on the first week of the summer vacation or on the last day of school. I've rarely had birthday parties and people would often genuinely forget to even wish me a "happy birthday" because it would slip their minds amidst the graduations/packing for vacation/travelling. That was before social media and it wasn't as common for everyone to own a cellphone.

I like it for like a teen runaway taking whatever they can put in their backpack when leaving home, or siblings who don't wanna share their toys keeping them in their backpacks in their inventory so their sibling won't take it and they won't leave them around the house

As someone who uses the base game bathroom door a lot ( I do use them in houses I build ) I really like the toilet more than the male/female. Time to go download the new stuff lol

Labor Day Birthday here. I feel your birthday pain. But now I bring Popsicles to my students on my birthday. It kind of makes up for all of those years of "sorry too busy for cupcakes" on my birthday as a kid.

The fact I was playing earlier and I saw a lunch box and was like aw that’s cute and then I was going through the swatches and I clicked over the one with the skull and was like wait hold on it matches the school bag and I was surprised but so overjoyed by something so small lol but I love it!
