I spent 3 1/2 year making nothing but fancy 'coffee table boxes' out of exotics - in dovetails. I lived and breathed dovetails! It's nice to watch someone else do the magic. A very sharp European saw - 15 tpi - with no set, worked best, for me. An excellent design and a minimum of 'spinning tools' sells best!

I would have NEVER thought to make a sealed box, and then cut it apart for the lid to perfectly match! Thank you for sharing, and i can't wait to build one.

I’m a complete amateur noob to carpentry with rudimentary knowledge. The last time I did anything with wood was at secondary school for my GCSE’s. I chose woodwork / carpentry as my elective and designed and built a jewellery box, fixed together using dovetails. IIRC I think I got a B for it. 22 years later and watching other people showcase their skills on UKposts is inspiring me to buy tools and a workbench, and just start experimenting and building things for my home in my spare time, and try to improve my skills in general. Watching people showcase their skills on UKposts really is inspiring and I can’t explain why but I find watching these videos for hours on end incredibly relaxing.

That wooden hinge is the one piece that interests me the most of this box. The wood is beautiful but the hinge really peaks my interest.. Brilliant content again my bro. Keep em coming.
