Couldn’t leave well enough alone. The Strangers stands in my top 5 movies of all time. It’s spine-tingling nihilism. No reason, no justification. No backstory. No identities. “Because you were home.” I mean it’ll be entertaining but does anyone else feel that some things just don’t need sequels, prequels, etc. and that something can just stand on its own?

Ah, this brings back memories of being young and seeing this in theaters and then wanting to rent it to show it to everyone i know. The original strangers movie has always been my favorite. Its such an underrated gem. Yes, the original will never be touched and i agree with some saying that it was scarier when there was no origin story but i will still see this. I want to see a whole new generation fall in love with the strangers franchise. Its okay to let things change. I have high hopes I'll be good either way

He’s most likely not going to see this, but Froy was a good elementary-school friend of mine. In middle school we naturally drifted apart as he went on to attend a special performing-arts school (I actually found this out years later on Wikipedia lol, before that I just knew he no longer went to the same middle school as I did, was kinda worried about where he went 😂). He was a massively creative and imaginative kid and I remember a hell of a singer even back then. Through the years I read he got into some Disney shows and then today, here I am, scrolling through UKposts and finding out that he will be starring as a lead in a major studio film. Kudos, Froy, you deserve it!

Froy was also in Cruel Summer Season 1 on Freeform , I loved that TV Series. It was really good and Froy did really well in that. Thanks for sharing your memory of him tho !

I mean to produce one cheap and see if it’s profitable is a safe/cheap bet, but to film 3 movies back to back is a big financial and schedule commitment and show of faith no matter how small the budget. The way the strangers prey at night ended I always had a feeling there would be a prequel or prequels I knew this trailer would say witness how the strangers.... Became the strangers. I'm old enough to remember seeing the first movie in theaters in 2008

@@ceeset5472When I first watched the sequel I liked it (& I suppose there's still elements I enjoy about) but with subsequent rewatches I found myself having morw issues with it, as far as it being a good Strangers film I found it to be sub-par at best & it seems we're getting the same with this new film.

Is it just me, or has anyone else become really confused? In previous movies, the line was "Is Tamara home?" and "Because you're home." Now, they've been changed to "Is Tamara here?" and "Because you're here." Like, there might be an explanation for that!

I don't think so. I'd say it's to show how unhinged the killer is. This is a predator - prey situation, so she assumes he doesn't have guts to pull the trigger.

There’s already a sequel out called prey at night but it’s more of a slasher Imo. This trilogy is like the other movies never happened from what I’ve read. Either way super stoked to see how they do.

Chapter 1 isn’t gunna be an origin story like most ppl think. Directors have stated that this is a reimagining of the original. That exactly why the two story’s are very similar. They needed to recreate the original to set up for the next 2 chapters. Chapter 1 is the remake and 2/3 are the origin/ending to The Strangers.

As soon as I heard : "Why are you doing this to us?" at the very same moment where the strangers are in front of the couple both being tied up to a chair is literally a copy and paste from the original movie, in addition with the vinyle playing, the girl smoking in the house, the focus on the fireplace in the living room, and much more things... The 2008 version is still one of my favorite thriller because of the ambiance, the slow pace and lovely calm moments in the beginning that feels like a fever dream where everything is beautiful (love, calm and happiness), which is just getting disturbing by the end of it.
