I have an elderly grandmother and my husbands parents - we couldn’t just up and leave. And I don’t want to return to work because I want to stay home with my child and not be a part time mom.

as far as i know, if adzan calling , we should follow to recite it (Repeat what the Mu'aththin says, except for when he says: Hayya 'alas-Salaah (hasten to the prayer) and Hayya 'alal-Falaah (hasten to salvation). Those were the years before the Iranian revolution when Islam was a religion of peace and a religion with great honour to be respected and admired. My girlfriend was visiting in India when USSR attacked Afghanistan. Instead of returning home to a war zone she came to Canada with the intention of moving on to the US as soon as was possible. Although she never wore a mask, only a respectable head scarf, she was always devoted to prayers particularly during the time of Ramadan. Her religious convictions were something to be admired and respected. Americans heeded the plea for assistance by the Mujahedin but Afghanistan responded by creating the Taliban and enslaving women and attacking the country's benefactors. You need to inform yourself. Although you like to think of yourselves as victims it was not the west that created purdah and burka stoning cutting off of hands and heads and beating people in the streets etc., etc., etc., I could go on and on all day. It is not the west that has created your poverty and unemployment - the very poverty and unemployment that sends millions of migrants across the Mediterranean seeking work. The west has pumped billions of dollars into oil producing nations for the last fifty years - if I remember correctly the Arab Spring began in Tunisia when an unemployed man lit himself of fire in protest taking the west completely by surprise and by the way, the unemployment and government in Tunisia has not changed. A classic example: Britain, and US and even Israel has pumped billions of aid dollars into Palestine over the past fifty years and guess it's still still a sh*t hole of poverty. (Arafat was multi-millionaire when he died) After WWII the US pumped millions of dollars into defeated Germany and guess what - they are now the richest European state. Japan followed the same path - using American money to built industry rivaling the US itself. My advise leave the religion in private sphere where it belongs and start building a future for yourself instead of whining about victimization and persecution and bullying everybody else. If you don't want people to shun you when you're innocently walking down the street - then stop dressing up in the terrorist costume.

+Mushy Haji I'm not religious so I have no reason to hate anyone. Not being religious means that all people start out on the same footing. This doesn't mean that there are not a whole lot of really stupid people out there. You sound like the school yard bully who just got punched in the nose by the little guy. I'm not a racist.
