Wish we all didn’t have to censor ourselves so much now. I want the rated R version! A lot of us are just a smart and knowledgeable, or more so, as doctors and we should have the right to have ALL information available. As soon as I went into menopause my whole body changed!! Now I have chronic pain and sleep issues. Not one doctor, not one, explained anything about menopause to me!! I all of a sudden started having cognitive issues ( not remembering things and brain fog) gut issues and stress!! No one related any of my symptoms to my hormones!! 5 years post menopausal and I’m thinking WTF….This is CRAZY man..!! What are these doctors doing?? Seriously! And I’ve watched my mom decline to basically being bed ridden and weak. Not one doctor, not even one, told me about osteoporosis, osteopenia, and how I need to make sure I build muscle especially BEFORE and during menopause!! I’ve learned everything I know from UKposts and books and searching for research papers. The whole medical industry has failed us! And it’s videos like these that are saving us!! Literally. And I always read the comments so we can communicate with each other.

That should be your life now; relying on yourself and people like these two researches to get info. The doctors, even if they’re good, are beleaguered with too many patients. A lot of them are at best mediocre. You should never hand your health and well being over to someone who doesn’t have to walk in your shoes- no matter how many degrees and certifications behind their name. You walk it; you talk it!

Learning about GABA changed my life! @60 years of age. A friend/mentor was looking for a natural way to sleep. When reading about it, she contacted me, because I had told her I always “thought” differently. And that things were bouncing around in my head so fast that I couldn’t grab the thought. She suggested I try it in the morning on a weekend. GABA CHANGED MY LIFE!! I can think without having to work at it. And my wife can tell before me if I don’t supplement in the morning. Based upon my history, I don’t think I ever produced GABA naturally. With supplemental GABA in the morning, I no longer have to “read” other people to know how to act or react. And I have met many people in the last 10 years who have found GABA useful in the same way.

Hello dear, you can stop the hot flashes safely with natural Progesterone cream. If you menstruating you start on the 8th day of your menstrual cycle ( counting from the first day of bleeding) and stopping 24 to 48 hours prior to the expected date of your next period. Apply no less than 50mg Natural Progesterone Cream on areas where it would be absorbed best ( inside of elbows, behind kneecap, side of your neck on the route of the artery). Keep on mind that majority of Progesterone creams are 2% with means with 3 pumps you will get 60mg. If you have issues with sleep best Apply in the evening. If you're not menstruating Apply daily except 1 day of the month off. Good luck!

Very kind of you to write this. I'm 60. Way beyond periods. I did take progesterone for about 6 years. I took 200 mg in the evening. Then I had a compound that I would spread on my arm every day. After 6 years, my hair started to fall out, so I stopped the hormones altogether. My hair stopped falling out for the most part. But I just decided not to go back. Marijuana is very helpful with the hot flashes. Why? I have no idea, and I haven't researched this yet. But the difference is so big, I just use pot to stop it. It's way cheaper than hormones.@@aneliadraganova3504

Your hot flushes could also be caused by your antidepressant. I would not add extra hormones as the other comment suggests. It will have an effect on your whole body. Something you probably should discuss with a herbalist or a holistic doctor :)

@@michellecox5543 the hormone comment is definitely a valid option and probably the most common one (I'd guess). It just depends if that's what you want to do or if you want to try other options first :) it depends on what medication you're taking, how much, if you can switch or if that causes too much trouble etc. I wish you good luck and health as well as strength advocating for yourself on your journey 🤗

I’ve always known I was super sensitive to MSG.. yet there were all those articles saying it was fine and the worries were blown out of proportion.. yet every time I accidentally ate it I’d get dehydrated and wouldn’t be able to sleep, sometimes it would make my kidneys ache! I’d be able to tell without knowing what had gone into a meal, whether it had MSG in based just on my body’s response. So it wasn’t psychosomatic. Finally this video has explained the mechanism, makes perfect sense. I’m sensitive to nervous system strain so an effect on GABA is obvious. Thanks for the info. Nice to know I wasn’t imagining things 👍 Best part of UKposts is stuff like this. So helpful.

This is great, thanks. I used to use GABA a lot but it has become very difficult to get in the UK - no laws or anything, no discussion but they're restricting all kinds of substances that are really useful to us. For a few years now have been using powdered l-theanine under the tongue and it is just magic. A small amount enables me to concentrate on work for longer, a larger dose helps me to calm down and sleep better at night. Highly recommend it. Edit: I wonder whether GABA taken directly DOES help not just if you have a leaky gut but because, perhaps, the gut has GABA receptors just as it has serotonin receptors?

I was about to argue the point of GABA supplements working because they do, as he said, if you have leaky brain, which I believe many do. If you want to test this, do the GABA challenge. Take about 3 grams of GABA on a relatively empty stomach. If you have a leaky brain, you will soon find out. For me, it happened in about 20 minutes. When GABA crosses the blood brain barrier, it resets your neurosystem and for about 20 seconds or so, you will become short of breath. If you didn't know to expect it, it would almost be concerning but it leaves as fast as it comes. BTW, I think that demographically speaking GABA does work because I believe that many individuals that suffer from poor health that leads to poor neurotransmitter health also have high levels of inflammation brought on by leaky gut and leaky brain.

@@JBaker-lh8pl When enzymes in a given pathway have irregularities or differences in potentitials of the substrate to product ratio, there becomes up/down regulation of the affected enzymes. Imagine a water pressure regulator that is set to maintain 150 psi on the outlet but it is pressently getting 200 psi on the inlet. All of the sudden, the inlet pressure goes to 250psi. In a spit second, the outlet pressure goes up, well above 150psi, until the control valve observes that the process is out of balance. Once this is observed, the control valve closes and pressure control is restored.

Im experimenting with Picamilon, a very interesting compound. Niacin (B3) bonded with GABA, which enables GABA to cross the BBB. Picamilon is an ingredient used in the production of the street drug GHB, or "Fantasy", this made Picamilon a Class-B drug by the FDA. I had to run the gauntlet and took a chance to bring in a small amount for personal testing. It arrived safely and unopened. As far as effects go.....So far so good. Picamilon is a much safer and effective form of brain GABA (far safer than Phenibut).

Inflammation uses up so much, from neurotransmitters to hormones, mitochondria, and adrenals. People who have autoimmune conditions are so poorly served by standard pharma medicine and don't get enough of what they need. I ruminate. In addition to being diagnosed autistic, ADHD, bipolar (type 2), and living with CPTSD and lifelong tinnitus. My inner dialogue is hard to shut up once it gets going. I tend to read to sleep, which generally helps. However, some hostile worker in my brain once thought it would be funny to give me nightmares and stressmares to wake me when I need to pee, and the pattern stuck Most of the time, my air filter's white noise and either crickets or rain ASMR calm me okay, drown out the tinnitus. If I find I can not go back to sleep, sometimes I will read again if I can shift focus; but more often these days I just turn on a podcast. Basically, I need cerebral distraction using as few senses as possible. It took years to get used to my CPAP, even the simple nostril strap I use, and I'm mostly used to wearing a lightweight mask to block the ridiculous number of lights we have nowadays. But it's so much crap touching me when I just want my mind and body to take a break from one another. I'll discuss GABA with my psychiatrist. We just finished the process of shifting from an SSRI to bupropion and so far, so good, except that I'm still in that early stage off the Duloxetine where I still get the weird withdrawal weird-headedness, which will pass. I've put a lot of energy of late into fine tuning my feeding and meds timing, too, and seem to have had good results, save the sudden mild deficiency in blood cells. Other doctors and I are pursuing answers for that, hopefully will just turn out to be a side effect of now-gone giant kidney stones (calcium oxalates, the ironic dark side of eating lots of veggies). But you never know. I went through intensive chemo, a sternotomy with tumor resection, and about 5.5 months of antibiotics over 9 months, 12 years ago, and I'm still discovering ways in which all that f'ed up my body. Gut seems to finally be normal(ish), now. Sleep mostly okay, other than as mentioned above, now that the gut is okay and I've eliminated all the extra sources of chronic inflammation (turns out I must not eat allium, e.g. garlic, sadness), I've (mostly) stopped injuring myself for thinking I could still exert myself the way I could when I was 4, much less 40 (cancer at 42). My life is so… gratuitous with the unnecessary. LOL Small wonder I have such a dark sense of humor; but that kept me in good straits with all my care teams. Attitude matters. And I've seen how much worse it can be for me. Fine, I turn 55 in a few weeks and it no longer feels like aged 20 years in one, just half that. It's a work in progress. Yes, I'm just blithering at this point. :) I'm looking at the troscriptions website and will do the rest of my yammering with my psychiatrist and nutritionist. Thanks for the video. As you can see by the flood of alphabet soup, I got me thinking about what I'll tackle next. Replacing my passport and convincing friends in other countries to sponsor me?

Plain sand would be bad enough; but if it's state has been altered, it will be in one of the hygroscopic forms that do nothing positive to the body and can literally gum it up.
