This was our second year volunteering and we plan to be there in 2025 unless Jesus calls us home! We heard nothing but compliments as we interacted with the public and I did my best to pay them forward to you all.

Here's to the Thunderbird Youth Crew. This is a group of young folks that make me proud. They're working to improve themselves and the maturity and class they show is very impressive. Stick with it guys and good on you.

Hope you took your adaptor back. You should maybe keep some adaptors on hand and charge deposits from the food vendors that is refundable IF they show up and NOT refundable if they don't.

Sean you totally handled that situation with the food truck vendor, For next year maybe have someone on the site that has all adapters needed for electric and make this a little additional so vendors can make sure they are totally hooked up and ready to go!! The Vendor that fed the 450 people made some good money. The rest lost out. It looked great watching it here from Hamilton Ontario. If lived close I would have come. The guy that cursed at you behaved like a jerk.

I understand completely about having a hard time. My mom and dad and I use to work on our local dog show with the club. Vendors could be a pain but the worst was a few of the professional dog handlers that just HAD to be parked closer to the event than was possible. Those motor homes are huge and they are first come first serve parking spots. Looked like it went off great!

Some people can't talk without dropping the F-bombs. To me, they don't have a very extensive vocabulary. Sometimes when organizing an event that size, there are gonna be some people who aren't happy unless they make a fool out of themselves. They may think it's cute, but they don't see how it really looks to other observers. I wish I could go to the event, but I don't have anybody to go with and I don't want to drive that far by myself. I've seen what was there by other creators posting on UKposts and I appreciate them doing that. It looks like everybody had a great time.

Stephanie, what a joy it was for May and I to meet you at the Expo! What a confidence boost it was when you all recognized my service companion each time we saw you. Secretly I will tell you I snuck back into the building where I knew you were just so I could visit with you again, not the class. lol. We are already planning our trip around next years event! And if we can volunteer in any way that would make it even more special for us as our gifting from God is service. Thank you again for your graciousness! It was much appreciated!

Put a cancellation fee in the food vendor contract that gets higher the closer to the event.

That food vendor was unprofessional. You needed him so you did what you needed to do. Do not accept him next year. Another option is to have extra equipment to sell or rent out.

Put it in Bold, capital lettering where electrical is concerned and 1st come, 1st served. Or even in a different color also.

My grandpa had one of those old John Deere's. Brings back a lot of memories of learning to drive one and use it to bale hay. I have a lot of experience in running events and the parts to them. You need to send out RSVPs for vendors . Have a setup deposit. This will help keep on a whim backouts down. Legitimate backouts can be on a case by case basis. The RSVPs should include setup time requirements and other important points. If they got their notice by email or mail they need to reply.

😊 As someone who goes to these types of events and sets up my space, it is always first come first serve when it comes to spots. ❤ I am usually sitting ♿ outside waiting for the door to open on set up day 😂 Being in a wheelchair, I need all the time I can get. ❤ But I love seeing kids faces light up when they get to see how yarn is made with a spinning wheel.😊 And yes, there is always a problem with food vendors, no idea what it is, but even here in Ohio we have the same issues 😊

Dutch you want to talk about a bad day. I live in Baltimore. I guess you have heard by now about the ship that hit a bridge here. I was a toll collector for 9 years there it was a beautiful bridge. 6 out of the 8 workers on the bridge have not been found. They are still not sure how many cars and trucks are under the water. They are still not sure what happened. So you tell that guy I thinks he's having a bad day think about those people who won't be home for Easter.. sorry you had to put up with that man.

This was my first year and I am just a follower of all y’all’s pages. I think this event was smooth as ice. I been to many events and took hours to park, can’t find spots, vendors rude etc. none of this happened here. The long lines for food is normal when there is a scheduled lunch at noon. I use to manage a restaurant, ran food truck and catered. The long lines are normal for large events. I fly in but hell if someone can loan me a grill and a portable fryer I will sell burgers, dogs and fries as a vendor for y’all. I had a blast 💕🌹💕

Dutch, I hope you kept that adapter when the event was over, then you will have a spare next year. That guy needs prayed for.

Sean, I sympathize with you about running events like this. When our kids were in a private school, I ran a 3 day antique show as a fund raiser for the school. The first day, was set up for all the dealers followed by a reception for the parents and vendors. Next two days we were open to the public. No show vendors, no show parent volunteers, snafus, all the problems. However, I ran the kitchen and we did all the cooking. While I was in the kitchen, the co-chair was on the floor dealing with any other problems, but conferred with me if necessary. We, the same co-chair and I, ran the show from year 3 to 8. The kitchen never made money, they were lucky to break even and our first time out was no different. By the next year, I had made an assessment about where food was purchased, standardizing portions, health department rules and regulations, volunteers who knew their way around kitchens with experience in waiting on customers. We made a profit in the kitchen that year and every year the two of us ran it. We also increased the number of vendors as well as customers. People don’t realize the amount of work that goes into these types of events. I’m so glad I had control of the kitchen and didn’t rely on other vendors who had the potential to back out. You can deal with a vendor who is selling candles or furniture or jewelry, but if you can’t feed a hungry crowd and those people leave to find another source for lunch, the likelihood is that they won’t return to the show. Then, vendors don’t make sales and are reluctant to return the following year. It’s a real headache, but you and all the other volunteers seemed to have handled it beautifully. Watched Eddy and Walker videos and now yours. Congratulations to your group on a job well done.

When you think tomorrow will never come, it’s yesterday. I learned that saying years ago, not sure who first spoke it, but it stuck. Totally understand the prep & behind the things that go on in getting who you need for the event, organizing vendors, setting up, actually getting through it, tear down & clean up. There seems to always be a cog in the wheel. All of you did an amazing job, supported each other & should be pleased with what you have accomplished. Seeing videos from different channels I’m very impressed at how many were listening to the different speakers, the place was packed! Although I can’t make the trip, it was great to see everyone having a good time. Good to see a program for teenagers in need of some direction getting it and helping others in the process. ♥️🇺🇸♥️🙏👍

Yes on the video with you guys. Been in your shoes many times. Husband and I with Jaycees was out almost every weekend to something. The biggest was Happy Days. Largest 4 th of July Celebration in Oregon. Carnival, Food and miscellaneous venders, Entertainment, Beer Garden with food, and 1.25 hour Fireworks. This was all done with our Jaycees Membership. The only thing we had to hire was Security. This event went on for 1 Long week!!! Very hard work for all. 😀🙏🏼 Any questions please ask. It really was hard but fun times also
