@@sarahhamdan5470 That’s the thing with baking though, the rules are meant to be broken. The rules are there for people who have absolutely no clue how different elements work (like which ingredients are for leavening, what’s to add moisture, what’s to ensure integrity, etc.) but once you really understand those things there’s no reason not to deviate from the recipe. And even if you aren’t experienced, most of the time these “hard and fast” rules won’t ruin what you’re making, but will just turn it into something slightly different. Like how Keith’s cake was absolutely edible, tasted fine, but closer resembled bread in texture because it had too much leavening. Or how Ned’s ice cream was a bit watery and icy because he skipped on the egg yolks and didn’t substitute anything to stabilize it.

Considering this is probably around the time he started his "consensual workplace relationship" seeing him almost over fixate on Ariel and "mommy's favorite" was a huge red flag. Don't get me wrong, I think in the beginning Ned probably was the family guy that he portrayed, but seeing him almost stop talking about Ariel completely and then in this season of WAR, it being all about Ariel and her favorites... In hindsight, he was probably really nervous and was trying to overcompensate for his consciousness telling him it was wrong.

I love that this time during Keith's angry rant they let the judges laugh (which is the natural reaction anyway) instead of telling them to act scared like in some past episodes. The fact that Keith called out Ned on his basic ass ice cream 😂 not to mention this episode Ned was acting like a jerk. While everyone was helping each other near the end he focused on himself, he got mad at Zach for not paying attention to his whole speech abt how to fix his cake. Like dude, nobody cares. And he kind of CHEATED by asking what goes in nougat. I get it that Keith tried doing the same but it ended up not working so it cancels out. And the fact that he won when his creativity point should be ZERO, while Eugene’s should have been at least a 9-10. I swear the judging gets inconsistent.

Not trying to add more on the (deserved) Ned is trash bandwagon but watching past old videos really kinda cements how unoriginal homeboy was a lot of the time. Just in this video alone, he used Keith’s iconic “Daddy’s Favorite”, called Snickers after Keith called Wonder Bread, made the least original cake which as the judge pointed out has already been made and is made pretty much everyday at ice cream bakery shops. I remember in the prank episode (one of my faves), he copied Keith’s idea of using his face everywhere to the point Keith was like “can’t you come up with something on your own???” His whole schtick rode on Ariel. Like bruh.
