I actually made a diamond hoe once cuz i was making a massive farm in survival that was over 2000 blocks... and seeing how the diamond tools have roughly 1,500 uses... i felt it was justified.

Actually with the right enchantments fishing is rather helpful. I have retrieved enchanted books, saddles, enchanted bows and other fishing poles from fishing. That and I actually find it relaxing, especially if you bring a jukebox and a couple of your fave discs (not disc 11 obviously) to listen to whilst doing so.

You missed the big one: If you're on a multiplayer server... fill in your creeper holes! Everyone gets blasted once in a while, and when you do, take some dirt and fill in the crater so you're not leaving a bunch of potholes everywhere you go.

It was from “Hermitcraft 4: Episode 143 - THE ANTI-PRANKS!”, part of the Christmas tree deleting timelapse. Fraps occasionally bugged on episodes during this time, splicing a frame from the wrong episode sometimes. He later switched to OBS though, so that doesn’t happen now.

Once I built a 'mansion' out of diamonds blocks with a quartz roof, iron doors and gold chestplates. I was very proud of this house when I finished it. Now I'm giving myself the benefit of the doubt, because I was seven at the time. My amazing sister was very supportive and lied to my face when I asked her if she liked it. She at the time, already watched Grian (and maybe Mumbo, I don't completely remember). My sister told me Grian thought you shouldn't build houses this way, but *she* thought it looked amazing. One day I lost the world it was on amd was very sad I lost that mansion. My dear sister was sad with/for me. I told her it was ok, and that I'll just build it again, since "it was too narrow anyway" I never ended up building that ugly 'mansion' ever again.

I never kill villagers or grief villages. Sometimes I even build my own village-style bases or just modify the pre-made villager's house, or build a few more iron golems to just protect the village.

Minihulk462 I also did the same however lava was always in the game (remember when in lava your screen would get some red filter that affected half your screen?) but caves weren’t in the game yet meaning that lava was only found coming out like a waterfall on the side of mountains

...I spent a couple hours fishing a week or two ago and got myself a full set of completely enchanted diamond armor, an axe, a shovel, both kinds of E5 pickaxes, and an infinity and mending bow by the time I was done. I’d call that worth it.

i would build an enderman farm on survival.. which would take a year... instead of fishing... you have to kill me if you want me to fish... at the beginning i didnt know you can fish. i thought this is only for pigs to lure them with carrots...

So I’m a 30 year old who didn’t play Minecraft until about 6 months ago because my partner’s daughter wanted to play while she was spending a month at my place. So I bought her the ps4 version of the game, and now her father and I cannot get enough of it. It’s ridiculously addicting! I feel like Zelda OOT, Witcher 2 & 3 and the sims merged into one game.

My top rules for newbs (and since I don't play online, I'm ignoring online play etiquette; I'll also assume they have some concept of getting armor and weapons): 1: Make sure you don't store things in darkness (I didn't know and broke this when I first attempted to play a trial), for monsters lurk in shadow. 2: Don't dig straight down unless you want to die. 3: Don't dig straight up unless you're cool with bad things falling directly on you. 4: As soon as you get a bucket, carry water any time you go underground. 5: Do not be afraid to look stuff up.

0:56 I do that, BUT I make sure the tunnel is 4 blocks high so that you can place stairs on the bottom and top to make it look nice, allow you to go up/down faster and without head banging.

Mumbo! I agree with you on all of these except one. 1.) Floating trees are so annoying. They make me so angry when I see them. 2.) I don't get the point of killing villagers. Like you said, they could be useful, yet some people still do it. 3.) My friend always holds flint and steel, and I tell him not to. 4.) Pillars look ugly. 5.) Diamond blocks are a terrible building material. 6.) I hate going onto a multiplayer server and claiming a great area for a base, and then someone comes along and makes a claim right next to me. 7.) I always yell at my friend not to break spawners. 8.) Why do people even play on Moody brightness?! 9.) Who would kill all the animals in a farm?! 10.) Block houses look terrible. The only exception is if it's your first night and you need a place to stay. 11.) I hate when people take credit for anything that I do. The only exception is fishing. I really think that fishing is good. If you have a good rod you can find some good items. One time, I found a Power V, Mending I, Punch II bow while fishing. I also found a Sharpness V book.

Phantastic i am playing survival in that biome were wolves spawn.. but there was a lack of food and wheat would grow that quick. so fishing is really good because i got 4 saddles. some enchants books. nametags.. enchant items from it and also 2 good bows i emurged together to a bow with infinity 1 power 5 unbreaking 3

@@Wysterian not exactly. There is a set Tutorial world that gets updated with each update with any new items. The only "handholding" there is in this world is right at the start, where it shows you the basics of crafting, and building. In this world it will tell you what most things do (say a furnace will smelt items) as you find them and use them. Or you can just go into a regular world and start off completely blind.

I always dig straight down. Put everything in a chest. Grab one stone pickaxe. Dig straight down. If you die, you die. Cover the hole and grab another stone pickaxes and try again in another spot. It takes about a minute to get down to diamond level as opposed to 15 minutes to slowly dig your way down.

Honestly these people keep saying why not to fish... because it takes forever to get anything and is more boring than almost everything. Just set up an afk fish farm, do something with your life, and come back. It'll have been far more interesting than sitting there and occasionally right clicking for 2 hours.

It's clear you've never really tried to fish then. 2 hours is a massive exaggeration. Literally you can get a good set of items in about 30 minutes if you know what you're doing. Emphasis on *know what you're doing* by which I mean that you have a good fishing rod, which If you are serious about, you will have before you start. And I don't know why you'd spend 2 hours anyway. You'd only fish if you wanted something specific, like Mending Books or Name Tags, and it just flat out won't take 2 hours to get them. As for Fish Farms, sure, you could make one, but I generally enjoy playing survival, and actually SURVIVING. Fishing is actually something you can do when you're needing your farms to grow, or when you're waiting for night to hunt mobs, and generally is good for passing the time.

If you are digging straight down and fall in lava, just save and quit while your burning then you spawn at your spawn point but still have all the loot you just collected. It works on Nintendo switch but not sure about any other devices

Fishing got me and my friends good loot! I got a fire aspect 2 for my sword when fishing I also got a infinity bow while fishing. Fishing isnt bad.

but it would be a lot more efficient to get those enchants and more using villagers or an enchanting table. If you don't have a village near by or you are going for an enchant that can't be gotten using the enchanting table, THEN you could go fishing if you have a lot of time and/or are desperate for the enchant.

Late and also this is from someone elses comment, but It was from “Hermitcraft 4: Episode 143 - THE ANTI-PRANKS!”, part of the Christmas tree deleting timelapse. Fraps occasionally bugged on episodes during this time, splicing a frame from the wrong episode sometimes. He later switched to OBS though, so that doesn’t happen now.
