@@crosita1 i would say the only reason for people saying that is cuz theyre haters and for some strange reason actually think that "he did it"....i wont even actually say the term that other people do...he was set up and people that dont realize that are in a lot more trouble than they realize because it goes way beyond him being set up. So many artists/legends have been set up and killed off for money to be made off of their catalogues. It makes me sick but it also means that there are people here on earth that are that powerful that they can get away with such evil acts. Im not even worried about the actual covid19 virus but what this pandemic really means for mankind very very soon. Wake up people do some research and it will all make sense if you arent as naive as my Mother.

Abel (The Weeknd) is coached by Ron Anderson (he was actually with him at SNL for this performance too), who focus a lot on working your head voice. If you go watch his performances before 2013 - before he got with Ron Anderson - he would sing falsetto and break and/or jump a lot, but now he can do what we hear here.

He's said before that he's inspired by Ethiopian artists -- as you probably know he's Ethiopian himself. If you were to listen to (traditional) Ethiopian music, you can easily hear what he's influenced by. He translated an Ethiopian singing style to his own brand of music. Also the head moving thing is actually something most Ethiopian artists do. Look up a live performance and you'll see the same thing!

People who dont exercise their singing voice wont understand, and you dont have to be an expert to know what that feels like to sing like Abel in these parts. You do tho, have to warm up and get all loosen up to the point you dont break. When you dont break your voice is flexible enough to get into this mode confidently, because oh yeah, takes confidence which is huge in singing, know where your voice needs to land the note. You'll feel your voice being made between your air stream and the pockets of space in your face and throat, the face expressions, the "set ups" for certain sounds and such. The voice just sort of happens now, it's different than before when you had to almost do a football hut. And you are now in control, like a ps4 controller, the more you go the more you dont even remember you have a controller to work. At the beginning you feel like you forgot how singing feels or how to calibrate from mid to loud to soft and around but back. As you sing sometimes, you can achieve it but you wont be following rules that let it happen the same again, if you do warm up with vocal exercises you'll be singing like if you were playing the piano, methodical, and to get Abel's voice in this mode, he's got a song you can practice, Prisoner, this song you can feel the softness. Your softness can be so strong though, specially if it's your base. You feel it softly made in the throat, soft but if warmed up you'll feel the steadiness of the notes, and because of this it feels flexible and the voice travels allowing you to get anywhere and everywhere, the listener is not aware of this at the time of listening, the recording only pics up sound, this is makes more sense when you remember that screaming at the top of your lungs can just be vocal fry.. so! I hope this made some sense. Also, you can go from chest to falsetto and in some parts you can flip back and forth and it almost sounds the same, mean whilst remaining in soft mode. It travels to the nose on from 2 3 4 and on 6 and sev after an octive sound the same for me in falsetto or head voice.

Would be awesome to have you reacting to the whole album, especially to Blinding Lights (there are some live performances already) and to In Your Eyes: the 80s vibes are unbelievable

Definitely definitely mix voice. I think it just came extremely natural to him and his voice type. The “ connectiveness” you hear is the ability to bring the mix, or rather maintain the head quality into the lower registers where one is tempted to shift into chest. So... head voice mixed with chest body resonance throughout entire range. His voice will last

I think i read somewhere that the reason for the fast vibrato is because of his ethiopian roots

Love this, could you do more videos on The Weeknd please? I’m really interested in knowing your thoughts on a variety of his tracks

I don't think it's falsetto as well, I think it's just his natural voice.

Love watching you! And love The Weeknd! I think it would be awesome if you analyzed Banks. I feel like people are pretty split on whether they think her live performances are good or not. And I’d like to hear what you think about the sustainability of the way she sings.

That's a really good point about the neck muscles. Never realized how much they tense up when I sing!
