The cruellest thing that the Creature could've done to Jonas was just leave him alone in those caves.

This entire series has been brilliant. The care and work shines through on every episode, especially with the actors and the writing. The multilingual approach works very well with setting and realism, im reminded of the opening scene of The Hunt for Red October when the cast spoke Russian and then a transition to English, but done much better here. The world building is beyond a doubt the best ive ever heard and is worthy of Television series. It also reminds me of some of HP Lovecraft's work involving 'found journals' or recounting tales ala' Mountains of Madness. ...Well done to all involved!

I wanted to love this. The characters are interesting, the setting is intriguing, the multilingual cast is cool. But it’s downhill after that. The character deaths all felt anticlimactic. Sometimes I didn’t even realize someone was dead until a recap. And any fear or tension evaporated when you learn there’s literally no hope - the monster can easily get them inside their locked bunker and they can’t leave because it can magically rearrange space. From that point on it felt like watching a game where someone runs around with cheat codes on picking people off one by one - predictable and dull. I kept listening hoping a mystery would be solved: what was the monster(s), what happened to the murdered team members and why were they murdered, why was there an abandoned town and who lived there? For crying out loud, why did it glow blue? Nothing was solved, no one ever had a chance, and it was never clear if they ever did - was it a trap? Or was it because they took a piece back from the village? It just feels unsatisfying and like lazy writing to leave every single plot point ambiguous, constantly contrive ways to write notes and make recordings (even when a moment ago spooky magic was making it impossible but now suddenly it’s okay), then stop the transcript whenever you don’t feel like writing the transition. In summary: promising start, but took too long to get where it was going with absolutely no pay off. The podcast equivalent of, “rocks fall, everyone dies.”

I like to think Jonas simply had the Salt somewhere in his bloodline and will be reunited with his kids when a stressful situation involving seawater hauls out the Deep One strain from the back pocket of their genes. Thank you all for this, 'twas entertaining.

Thank you for listening. We love how into the show you were and reading you comments! Season Three is currently releasing on the UKposts, so tune in for that as well. (Also, our writer is an archaeological scientist trained at Oxford, so she's always picky about how the characters act at the sites. Though, given that it's fiction, there's no call for worry. :D )

Hollywood should take note of this story. Yes, it’s very good, but also there isn’t any identity politics jammed in it. Don’t care what color the protagonists are, or who they choose to sleep with, because, case in point, it has nothing to do with excellent story telling. Take that you HW weirdos.

Series in a nutshell: Coffee. COFFEE! Coffee?! Coffee.. Polarbear! Polarbear. Rudely speaking in another language mid sentence so no one else can understand in the group and killing off the white characters first.😅
