It’s why he was cast-the producers saw from the beginning that he would make a great Winter Soldier, but they actually had more reservations about his ability to play Bucky Barnes. I think it's more about physicality than being a method actor. There have been other interviews where Seb has said he doesn't go that far.

Well I don't think he's a method actor RDJ was likely joking or exaggerating, but I still admire him a ton for turning down the comfortable arm for the heavy one for the sake of being true to the character and source material.

Winter Soldier and Civil War are my favorite because of Sebastian Stan. The stories are great and the action and cast are good in both of those.
