@@revolvermd I totally agree an underpaid is an understatement. I left after 4 years due to another job offer with the government doing social services. I'm still in contact with some of those students to this day. Although they were a constant thought, I was struggling to pay my bills. When I went back to visit, the new teacher said " you must be Miss B. I never saw them like this before and it made my heart smile.

Ur not allowed to have bracelets. Ur not allowed to wear earrings (not talking about the hoops) They insult u They beat u They harass u most times. They humiliate u in front of ppl . They allow the janitress to lock the bathrooms during all periods except break and lunch not even allowing kids with medical conditions to use the bathroom. They don't pay the lunch lady so she went on strike for two weeks and haven't come back so we all starve. They only support guidance counselors and pay for useless field trips but can't support teachers trying to motivate students so the teachers dig into their own pockets and buy things for the classroom and extra activities etc. I can name 10 more
