it's absolutley true. I saw my mum arguing with her friend about what is cheaper: washing dishes by hands or using dishwasher. They sat opposite to each other and started arguing. They started checking how much dishwasher will use water and electricity, in which hours it will be chaper to use it and how much time it will take. The same with washing by hands. After about 3 hours of checking and counting everything they decided that using dishwasher is chaper, but fixing it is very expensive. This quarrel was masterfully perfect. It was nice just to watch this. guess where I'm from XD

And probably were looking at one dishwasher when there are many diffrent. @@newera1892 You're right. but from the point of view of linguistic purity in English. However, the meanings of words in different languages are often not 1: 1. In Polish, word "partitions" ("rozbiory") has one extra meaning - traditional, unique, relating only to the specific historical event: attacks on Poland at the end of the 18th century by specific three states (which alone could not defeat Poland) and then the occupation of Polish lands by these countries, cooperating with each other in the struggle against Polish uprisings in 19th century.

Can't say for all but i only "complain" about things i care about, and stuff that is bad and ugly... why even bother talking about it, just be done with it fastest that you can and don't even mention it, why waste time on something that is literaly a trash

I've been called stubborn and uncompromising in arguments because the way I approach them like this: I do not enter a discussion on a certain topic unless I've done an extensive research into facts and statistics and I've reflected on them profoundly in terms of ethics and logic. Thus when I open my mouth I usually have some pretty strong and well thought points. I do not waste my time on people who use cliches, stereotypes, authority figures, subjective "morality" or beliefs instead of studies to back their arguments. As a Pole I am a deep thinker and I am not interested in arguing on a superficial small-talk level nor going for the nth time over the same lines that can be easily proven wrong. This is often perceived as obstination. However at the same time I love people who are as knowledgeable and fierce as I am and bring something new to the table. I have been swayed from my initial opinions by such people after a lengthy and fiery discussions and to this day I consider those arguments that changed my mind the best arguments of my life.

@@klawypl I have to disagree on the taste matter, carbonared water is taster in my opinion so I treat it like a "special drink". I wouldn't drink it on a daily basis tho, mainly beacuse of the waste of plastic. I drink tap water because I care about the enviroment and that's my way of reducing plastic waste (plus I think companies that sell water are a scam, this resource is a basic human need and schouldn't be treated like other, non essential products to gain profit). There is an option of buying machine that carbonares your water. That's a better option than buying it bottled.

All true, and all the reason why we are survivors indeed ;) I also think that the fact we treat a difference of opinion as a personal attack comes from our history and is closely tied to the survival instinct, and centuries of having to stand up to people who wanted to change our way of life and destroy our identity. However, I think this is changing, in turn thanks to the self-depricating humour ;) complex creatures we Poles are for sure 😅

When it comes to being "know it all" I totally 100% agree I always found it annoying that my mom of grand dad always said to do certain thing only one true way, their way, and they wouldn't take no for the answer, and as u earlier said we are heated debaters and we would argue for hours because I want to do things my way but then they wouldn't give up. Because of that I would just agree with them and as soon as they stopped looking I would come back to doing things my way. ( often finding out that my way was un-efficient or even unproductive as I wouldn't be able do finish the task properly doing it my way.) and recently I founded myself doing the same thing to my friends and collages (looking back often coming off as a di*k and a know it all) and now I understand that they didn't wont to force their way of doing things on me, they just wonted to help me be more productive. So I perfectly understand that it can be annoying but other person has nothing but a good intensions behind them. and when it comes to that comment at the end once again 100% agree polish people like to fight, we need an enemy, unfortunately in times of peace this enemy is usually other pole "sąsiad" or "lewak" witch is a bit heart breaking to see but I don't wont to go into politics. Only thing I'll say is divide and conquer, you can see it in America, you can see it in Poland, when people look at each other and ignore the Higher up, then they just screw them over because we didn't see it. Poles need to unite under white and red no matter left or right. We can have our opinions but lets just make sure we don't blindly follow the elites and we constantly looking at their hands.

My father "knows-it-all" and knows it better than anyone else in Poland. I grew up with such person and it took me more than 20 years of my adult life to learn listen to others and not correct everything they say. I don't like that behavior, I try to work on that but is not as easy like it may seem. One thing I'd like to mention, this "I know it, so I'll tell you how it is" thing is often caused by our polish will to help others. We often think that we might help someone if we will say "how it really is". Would you do something dumb if you would know that you shouldn't do it or how to do it the right way? All this is not always to prove my point/argue.

For example, I'm taken for hardest work when Bulgarian people are taken to light work, because I can't do it carelessly (na odwal). But I have goal for next week, work like them, I don't want earn problems with health ;)

I am Pole and I am very stubborn. I just am. Point. 😂 Many things are right in here. You should ask my Portuguese boyfriend, he is actually suffering the same: I am always correcting, being right and very proud of tiny details of traditions and recipes I know from my grandparents. I sometimes ask myself how does he endure me 😂 I didn't know that our way of arguing online was something specific to our culture. I always thought it is a general thing about Internet comments sections. But now as you say it... Mixed with the fact that we are very stubborn and always right it makes a really hard to read mixture. I am dragged to these comments sections and always feel so bad about spending my time reading them, like it never actually makes any sense, no-one will anyway change their opinion and all that for just throwing blasphemies and swearing on each other... 🙄🤔 Great episode, I appreciate your work man! 👍🏻👌🏻

Moj wujek Czesiek calkiem by sie zgodzil z Twoim filmem, i zawsze wiedzial lepiej :) Super material. Pomimo koszmarow, ktore mial do konca zycia. Byl zajebisty i jakbys chcial zrobic z niego esencje do zaparzenia polskiej herbaty to bylby idealny. A! Mam wielki szacunek do niego i brakuje mi go bardzo. Fajny material, pozdrawiam i wszystkiego dobrego!!!!

I am Polish, so it's hard to be objective when taking about my own. But, I think you are doing a good job here when it comes to understanding the nature of the Poles. As far as the "stubborn" versus '"persistent" dilemma, I think that Poles are a combination of both. And this is usually dictated by the fight against the odds - on personal, political, economic, and other levels. I will also say this: Polish people will always stand up for the oppressed and against the oppressor. You can see that in the recent events unfolding on the global scene : the massive and unwavering support of the Poles for Ukrainians and the similar massive support of the large Polish community for the Freedom Convoy here in Canada.

I am Polish who travels the world and observes different cultures. What I appreciate most about Poles is their diligence, ambition, precision (compare the construction of Polish houses 🏡 and houses in Mediterranean countries) and the resourcefulness of Polish housewives 🍩🍲 What is less positive is the high level of trauma due to wars in the past, which has consequences even for the current generation, but the popularity of psychotherapy is increasing ☺️🍀

I cant accept a compliment (not because I lack confidence because I'm friggin amazing but because I always think I can do better) but I correct my husband and family (not strangers, thats rude), I dont interrupt but that's maybe because I have lived in the states longer than I have in Poland or any other country. I expect the best from myself and those around me and I let my work speak for itself. I would not call myself stubborn but definitely headstrong and the only thing that would convince me to change my mind is unsurmountable amount of facts and scientifically supported evidence, not feelings or "fluff". For the most part what you said tracked with this Pole even though I have been very americanized.
