They both eventually did time in prison. I think it ended Resto’s and Lewis’ careers. Lewis passed away in 2020. I think Resto is still alive. I cannot imagine how the widow and parents of Collins must have suffered. I don’t think the punishments were sufficient. However, the worst may be that Resto has to live with what he has done.

Although I wouldn’t know for sure (sure of weather he was sincere or not), I’ve heard in interviews that Resto has been deeply affected by the guilt of his actions, I don’t believe it was done maliciously. The idea came from his trainer and he planned to win, not to physically harm his opponent. I first heard about this case on Qxir’s channel who does great content that’s all entertaining, sensitive and respectful to the subjects of the tragedies he covers.
