This is not the first dual screen laptop but, this is the best implementation of it, cuz when you dont need another screen it feels like normal laptop with normal keyboard and touchpad

its better in every way. I personally like the keyboard that fits in the laptop. And the keyboard is illuminated. And you don't need care a stand. And the performance is much better. It has USB-A and HDMI also. And it has 32gb . I'm sold. If it comes available this year at least...

@@sebkeccu4546 yeah, i guess you're right, the only things that asus lose is the seemles transition between the 2 screen, but it's seems like it's not a big deal, since it seems like the best position to use this laptop is when it's opened wide up to bottom with the top screen directly facing our face and the bottom with the tilt position

@@sebkeccu4546true, no matter how thin and light laptops are it should still fit usb type a, i mean there are laptop under 1kg that have usb type a (lg gram 13 or 14) , people care more on weight than thickness unless it is too much like gaming laptops

this CES has been a bit quiet wrt refreshes and spec updates. ROG haven’t updated the Flow line. Awfully low number of AMD laptops and most “new” models are just spec bumps, bar the new Zephyrus laptops and the M16R2. Hopefully Computex has more devices in the mix. Maybe new AMD hardware?

Hey Jarrod! Any info on pricing for this? And I was wondering about the quality of typing using the mentioned (but not shown) virtual keyboard if I lose or decide to keep the physicap kb+tp combo at home. Also, 65W psu gor this seems very tame, even if it's a low power CPU without dGPU. I mean there's 2x bright OLEDs in it! Inwinder of the performance is hit in contrast to similar laptops with the same CPU but more juice (or at least "less" screen to sio power!).

No conditions. I wrote it all and they approved it with only minor changes. For example, they wanted me to show the keyboard with keyboard lighting off.

yo jarrod, do you think that eventually 16:9 on laptop will be gone like 3.5mm jack on smartphone back then? im all in for varieties but recently all 2024 high end models regardless of brand opt for 18"-16:10 screen. sad days for 16:9 enjoyer

Maybe , atleast for mid end and higher end , but i mean 16:10 give actuall benefits, and it wont cause any problem even if games dont support 16:10, unlike removal of headphone jack which is painfull since bluetooth is unusable for anything and listening audio only cuz serious latency, there are wireless radio based audio but that is very extremely rare for some reason

If this has Intel Adaptive Sync (which is fine, works the same as G-Sync in laptops including LFC support), I am going to buy one for my games room as a dedicated TATE arcade emulation machine (RetroArch). A small, portable TATE panel (well, 2)!, and OLED to boot, meaning perfect analog like response time. Intel GPU is all you need for arcade emulation, even my current 13th Gen 32 execution core UHD can do it in the 13980HX. But it has to have adaptive sync to play the games with 100% animation timing and as they were programmed to begin with.

Who would need more than 2tb of ssd on laptop like this (thin and light) ? , this is not even a gaming, creator, or workstation laptop, where the user actually need a lot of ssd space , in what scenario that you need more than 2tb of ssd on thin and light laptop thats not even made for demanding workload ? Luckily If for some reason you need more than 2tb of ssd you can Swap the ssd anyway

Very impressive engineering coming in from Asus. However, a laptop with high specs while also having 2 full screens, especially when constantly on max brightness, would probably have bad battery life.

In the very moment you put a dGPU in the laptop the battery life is doomed, so I don't think is a problem, well, it is, but one that anyone already knows.

I prefer the design of the previous duo, & the smaller touch pad's placement & conversion to a keypad was ideal; as I don't use touch pads and use a mouse instead. The smaller cropped screen also allowed for more airflow under it. I hate how touchpads are placed in the middle of laptops with the excuss that there are left handed people. Putting the touchpad in the middle doesn't fix it for left handed people, it just allows right handed people to share their pain instead.

As a left handed person it is better to just train yourself to right hand mouse, I converted years ago without issue. So keep the silly touchpad on the right hand side and people can just adapt to it.

Yeah this kind of thinking is just nonsense. It's not only in the center for left handed people. The way keyboards natural make us position out hands is what gives the touchpads its location. Placing the touchpads on on side would be insanely unergonomic and janky.

At last some meaningful use of touch-screen in a laptop, also 2 screens, but still quite niche use. It makes sense mainly if you need 2 screens or the touch input.

Sad, intel isnt worth it. Had a Zephrus gx701 with i7 9750h and its to slow at multicore and nowdays all intel processors are bad compared to amd, by watt and performance.

I don't diminish the efforts of the companies. Sure this is a great product But... nobody asked for something like this I think we'd like more efficiency, thermals, battery & performance I bought a Macbook pro 14 M3 Pro (my first Apple product ever) and whenever I switch to a Windows laptop is just... Meh 😐 Keep in mind I'm not an Apple fan boy but Intel/AMD have to do something Still, I use my desktop for gaming and my MSI laptop for when I'm not at home

Because it is actually usefull features . It is not useless ones like depth camera on phones, depth of field in games, rgb touchpad, stupidly thin laptop that it cannot physically fit usb type a, etc , i can see use case for this feature

@@Kiwironic I just have a list of ones who have annoyed me in the past: Asus, MSI, Crucial. I also avoid crapple just because they are crapple. When buying tech I assess all of the other brands that cross my path. Last time I checked, the 7900x3d was not intel btw, or a logical choice.

They ruined it by soldering the RAM and even worse they limited it to 32GB.. if this wasn't the case and the screens were IPS instead of OLED, it would have been an instant win for all programmers who want something like this.

@@mrbobgamingmemes9558 Fast programs *live* in memory, writing them is fine but containers/running/compiling/debugging while simultaneously doing research on whatever problem you're solving need tons of RAM, depending on the programs of course. I find myself constantly at ~28-30Gb usage, so my next machine *has* to have at least 48-64Gb.
