It's a freaking monster, and also it's build like the gods. Maybe it is, time will tell, but for now this phone is my favorite when it comes to any desktop performance. Maybe you can show if it can be used with desktop apps or maybe split apps in some way on the monitor. Thank you for the review!

I picked up this phone an paired with a HTC Vive Flow headset/glasses plus bluetooth gaming controller an included remote, getting around 12 hours of fun being completely mobile. Like what he mention this runs anything everything you throw at it even VR with the pair glasses. I’m very excited! where the mobile gaming is heading and to see what else coming to market in 2023. Literally what is missing for smartphones to become pocket pcs is just having compatibility with Windows applications, there are some people making a port of Windows arm for Android and there is a pc emulator called exagear so if in the next few months or years they will improve even more you can be sure that your cell phone can become a pc at any time, because they already have plenty of power.

@@DavidHee the problem is not even the websites since if you put them in pc view mode they look the same as on a pc, what is missing for cell phones to become pocket pcs is for them to run programs that only have windows, the exagear (pc emulator for android) already manages to run several games and programs on it, using only 30% of the gpu of cell phones and with poor compatibility, when it evolves even more and has support for 64-bit programs and games, here we go even pocket pc.

Did you try using Diablo mode? it basically maxes out your clock speeds both in gpu and cpu and some emulators like dolphin you can get insane results like 2x fps i was shocked it wasnt feautred in this video

I wish they'd bring back the laptop dock but for, well we'll say most, phone instead of just the one... Talking about the accessory for the Motorola Atrix 4G. It was a laptop form factor that the phone docked onto and it included a battery with a screen and keyboard w/ track pad. Docking the phone to it enabled a desktop mode.

The console mode looks pretty awesome. I use something called scrcpy (it mirrors your screen using adb, wireless works too) and the weird aspect ratio is annoying.

You should get the Windows 11 ARM Dev Kit 2023 from Microsoft ...w/the SD8cx Gen3, aka, Volterra, hooked up as a mini PC to see what it can do. It has 2x USB3.2 Gen2 Ports, plus USB3 type A ports, mini dpi; it has a custom MS x86 conversion layer built in... It runs DX12. It will play Android via WSSA & Linux via WSSL...(?) 32Gb LPDDR4X, 500Gb NVMe. It's relatively inexpensive (less than the phone in this video) & is about the size of the original Shield TV; it might be cool to see what it can do with an external GPU.

I was so happy when I saw the Xperia series with 8 gen 1 chips and damn this is awesome, but I think I'd still go Sony for the Micro SD, front facing speakers and no notch or hole punch. This is an impressive phone though and I doubt I'd give it back if someone said "here, take it".

just picked this up to play wii, GameCube, and ps2 games on it and i have no delays at all with any game, such a great phone. i occasionally play smaller lightweight switch games if im really feelin it, but honestly getting a modded switch is much more worth it for that. next thing ill get is a steamdeck for the bigger screen

I honestly expected this to cost a lot more. I think I'm going to hold onto my OnePlus 7 Pro for another year, and wait to see what they release next year. If it's not that much better, then will probably pick this up after they knock the price down a bit. Even for what it costs now though, I think it's well worth it.

That sounds intelligent. The QSD 855 was a formidable chipset, and it still holds up decently today, as long as the device running it has good software. Actually the QC 8g2 is not that impressive, it only seems like it since we've had lacklustre releases the past 3-years. For iPhones Late-2023, and Early-2024 for Android. That's when you should upgrade, that's when we expect to see the new benchmark in efficiency and performance. People who "upgraded" to an (QSD 888/888) Early 2021 and Late 2022 (QC 8g1/8g1+) Android phones are going to be very shocked. It's because we will finally see the second-gen ARMv9 architecture, since the Cortex-A715/A1710 family were never a true upgrade over the Cortex-A78 which they closely resemble. On top of that, we get a Full Node Shrink to TSMC-3nm. Overall, the upgrade should be similar to going from 20nm Cortex-A57 to the 16nm Cortex-A73, or like going from the 12nm Cortex-A75 to the 7nm Cortex-A76. It's significant, and definitely worth waiting and upgrading. On the Apple side, people who upgraded from an iPhone 11 model to an iPhone 12, iPhone 13, or iPhone 14 models will get a shock. But those users could better justify their upgrades (120Hz, 5G, Battery Life, Price). We'll see the release of Apple's next architecture, since the A16/A15/A14 family, closely resembles the A13, and they've somewhat become old. On top of that, they also get a proper Full Node shrink to TSMC-3nm. Both major upgrades will transition to the Macs in the next 13-20 months as the M3/M3P/M3X chipsets.

My op7pro screen finally broke up (protected with zagg) and I don't know which phone to buy since it released... He's still working and been on custom A13 ROM.. OnePlus 11 as on screen front camera.. redmagic is from Nubia and it seems that there is not a lot of customers like OnePlus community behind this brand. And seems that screen isn't that good. And pixel 7 pro still expensive and have camera glass broken issues.. not really encouraging.. Samsung are too expensive. Oppo hasn't a really long OS UPDATE support. I don't know what to buy..

@@titom44dj Honestly just depends on what you would use it for the most. If you plan to consume content mostly with it, then focus on something that has a really good screen and sacrifices something you don't need as much. That's why I landed on the OP7 Pro with no camera punch out on the screen, and not that great of cameras. My next phone I wanted to be powerful enough that I could also a Razer Kishi onto it and emulate up to PS2 games. So this phone is a contender for sure.

Haha, recent the hype of handheld gaming had definitely made a noticeable impact not only on gaming consoles era, but the phone & computing era as well ... until they consider combining these functionalities, or some might add why are you naming these types, the lines are blurring, which is a true statement. This is an interesting trend to see, as a consumer, I pay for a phone and I got a phone + gaming console seems like a good deal; however, when a certain thing try to do a lot of things in one, it'll be hardly good either one.

automodelista works better on aethersx2, but now it almost flawless on dolphin, btw I think I've noticed f-zero on dolphin runs better on this phone than on that mac pro (square one) you were testing

I'd prefer 120Hz and better battery life anyday, more than that is a gimmick just like quad HD...

Unbelievable. In just one year from SD gen 1 to get 2, we are at 4x full speed on PS2. would it be possible to test out some sports games? That's something most of the UKpostsrs don't do. NFL Street, NBA Street, and earlier Madden games struggled on my Tab S8. Would it be possible to test those games out? NFL Street in particular. I modded a PS2 just so I could play these games console style but this is a game changer if they'll run on this phone at better than native resolution! wow!

Unless you have a particular reason to play an early Madden, try "ESPN NFL 2K5" instead. I have an SD845 phone and it runs flawlessly on it at 2X resolution if you set the EE Cycle Rate to -1 and the EE Cycle Skip to 2. I also disabled Hardware Downloads; but I don't remember why. I could probably find a more efficient configuration if I tried, but, it's legitimately excellent as is. Note: when you first start a game it will run like garbage for the first 45 seconds until you get a pop-up saying "Vram is full". Then you shouldn't see it again for the rest of your gameplay session unless you reconfigure AetherSX2 settings.

Im wondering how good is the console mode to use as a desktop? Is it comparable to Samsungs Dex? Thats the only reason i continue to use samsung phones is the dex feature which works ok as a laptop replacement. Certainly not great, but havent found another phone that even comes close to dex yet.

The GPU on this is equal to a GTX 1050 ti when unthrottled (this phone can do it) and a GTX 1050 when throttled + has actual Ray Tracing cores and Variable Rate Shading support and the latest version of the Vulkan API, it can also do AV1 decoding and the CPU gets a 5200 multi core score on Geekbench so expect it to be as good as a 10th gen i5 laptop CPU The Storage read speed is 3500 just like the Samsung 970 Evo NVMe and the writing speed is actually slightly faster

@ETA Prime Could you try “Shadow of the Colossus” on AetherSX2 with these uber powerful devices? It runs notoriously SLOW on all but the fastest CPUs and it would be cool to see if we finally have some CPUs coming that can run it. Great video! 👍

Mantis says it supports both gamepad and keyboard mapping. The other big mapping app is Octopus; but, unless things have changed recently they only support gamepads.

Can you use it whit word, zoom, and things that u can usually do in a PC o a laptop for work or school work?? Like Samsung deck ? I have a laptop but I think it will be very convenient that I can use my smartphone like a kind of substitute of my laptop, after all this tings Al way more portable than laptops, I'm getting this phone, is amazing in every way, but I can't find much about using it like a Lite Desktop PC.

The ? i have is when it is hooked up to a gaming monitor say 144hrz does the screen stay 120 hrz on the monitor or gets locked to 60hrz like most of the time when useing DP alt mode.
