This smart glass is like a very budget version of Apple Vision Pro

The Inmo Air 2 is a standalone wearable computer that projects a a UI in front of face, onto the real world. It's fundamentally the same thing as Apple's Vision Pro, just nowhere near as fancy and premium. Still, this is full on standalone AR smart glass that can play videos, do live translation, or provide turn-by-turn navigation.
The Inmo Air 2 will launch via crowdfunding soon. I'll have the link in the description here when it's live.

You are a treasure trove of information when it comes to bleeding edge technology. I am reaaallly looking forward to your vision pro video. Please include comparisons to ar glasses like xreal air and rokid air max (in terms of visual clarity) with the vision pro in it. I value your opinion more than any mkbhd or linus. Thank You!

Fashionable they are not for sure Ben👌😄. But the implementation of the technology is great! And these can be tweaked and become even better. Considering the difference in price between what's being asked here and apple vision pro, is huge! There is so much room to grow here! Thank you Ben for showcasing all this different AR technology to us✌👍

Amazing first look Ben!! Inmo Air 1 user here, no idea why they went with the pogo, but the Air 1 was using usb-c for charging. Also, 80-90 minutes of battery life is way lower than what Inmo have said (up to 5.5 hours of continuous use), did the 90 minutes consist primarily of watching videos? I am considering upgrading from Air 1 to Air 2, as it has proven to be quite helpful while I am travelling in Japan (had went to a concert in Japan and understood 80% of the things that the idols were saying without knowing Japanese that well, as I got real-time subtitle with the glasses).

I would much prefer to buy a Meta Quest 3 for that price. It offers both AR and VR. Virtual AR screens don't move with your head and remain fixed in space unlike most of these smart glasses like Rokit and Nreal.

If you can get the lenses in CLEAR and prescription, without having to add a second pair of frames, and have a battery that lasts EIGHT hours, this would be perfect. Too bad the pathetic battery can barely watch youtube for 2.5 hours
@Jetter638
@Jetter638 4 місяці тому
And no...they definitely look DORKY! But given the amount of tech they are trying to squeeze into them that may be the best that they could do with that style of glasses and within certain cost constraints. It does make me wonder though if a different style (e.g., wrap around ) might provide a little more space to integrate more tech without looking so thick and dorky. Hopefully over time as the tech shrinks they can improve the style of the glasses. However, strategically speaking I'm not sure that going down the path of creating their own apps and developing/running a customized full Android OS on the glasses is the best approach. That's a lot to bite off and a lot to chew. And 30 minutes to an hour of battery life is not acceptable for anything other than a toy. Personally I think it would have been better for INMO (given the state of all the tech and battery limitations) to have the glasses just be a "tethered" accompanying device via a WiFi direct connection to the other devices. And have an option to connect via cable if you really need to have long running times. AFAIK, no other vendor in this price segment is using waveguide technology for display. Instead they are using a second layered pair of OLED screens (talking about awkward and DORKY looking...). So using waveguide technology but having the glasses be more of an "accompanying tech accessory" to your smart phone/ laptop/tablet devices might make better sense given where we are with the technology at this moment. By having the glasses be an accompanying device you might just be able to avoid integrating too much technology before it's practically viable for integration. You can offload as much processing and technology to the "parent devices" until which time the tech is ready for integration (it's small enough and power consumption is low enough). And as the technology gets smaller and battery tech improves (assuming it ever will) you could look at integrating more of the tech into the glasses over time and have it evolve into a truly standalone device at some point. A large part of the Smart Glasses market will come down to timing (i.e., when is viable to integrate certain tech into the glasses) and nailing the compelling use cases for Smart Glasses. Personally I think INMO is trying to do too much right now given the current state of the technologies. If they focused on making the Waveguide tech their differentiator for now without trying to do everything (full OS, set of apps, etc.) I think that this would still leave them with more energy to focus on addressing the core requirements of their target customers, uses cases and value add differentiation to make their product standout and ultimately make their company successful. I'm jussayin....... WRT the audio....just one question...who was the Undertaker's opponent? 😉

Air doesn't use cameras and uses a different system for displaying the content. These are also wireless tech + capacitive (and controller) feedback on the frames. The glasses also don't have 3DoF. These are not the same thing as the air....watch the video before commenting, please.

I won't buy this, these guys just abandon the air1 software and updates just after they ended the funding so they can use all the money for this one, and they will probably do the same with this one, not saying how ugly they are, I would pay more for something more fashionable.
