Not seeing is not being without other senses. He can smell. He can use his whiskers to navigate. He can hear. I've had blind companion dogs and they were quite amazing how they managed. They can lead good lives if given a chance.

It shocks me everyday when people purchase the dead bodies of animals from the supermarket to eat,they don't need to consume corpses of kind sentient beings to survive,they can easily choose something else to eat. But choose not too, WHY ? How many people call themselves animal lovers but pay someone to abuse torture animals in factory farms and slaughter houses. Every time you purchase animal products you are contributing to the suffering of innocent beings that don't want to die ! Does anyone stop and think about WHO they are eating ? Unless you are in a survival situation there is no moral justification for not being vegan !

I love this! It seems to be true. Although dogs need a lot of love too, and cats have a lot of live to give as well, there really is a kind of difference between the two. (And none are worse than the other, I have to add!) I noticed that dog owners generally want to see the love they give their pet returned to them in very open and obvious ways. Cat owners seem satisfied when they can see how their love affects their pet, and how they choose to keep coming back for more. The two are simultaneously very similar and very different, it’s pretty interesting!

but I disagree when she said "the cat is my dog's cat". it's kinda sounds like she say that her dog is the owner of the cat, not her. if that's true, then the cat's status is actually lower than the family's pet, which is the dog. she should say the cat is her family, not her dog's cat. that's what I really want to hear from every cats owner.

Our Kitty is blind too. Took her over from a friend and they didn't even know that she was blind. She was 6 or 7 years old already and nobody ever noticed. After the 1st year having her i had my suspicion and asked the vet to test her. Yep, blind and probably since birth.

Humans can be "legally blind" and still see shadows or blurry objects. It doesn't mean he only sees darkness. I definitely think he's not a regular seeing cat. It doesn't hold him back one bit.

Legally blind means you don't have a certain visual acuity (20/200 usually) even with correction. I'm legally blind, but I drive (with the use of special glasses) and otherwise live a normal life.

I adopted a 10 yr old blind dog. with early onset cataracts. She could see shadows when I got her, but in the last 2.5 years, those shadows are less and less. I do realize that the brighter the area and more contrast, the shadow is easier for her to see, which is why Bruno enjoyed watching the flames...he could probably 'see' their brightness.. Details like an object or person doesn't show so she runs into those things easily. But when walking in the park, she seems to detect the difference between the walkway and the grass...maybe it gives off a slightly different light so the shadow might be seen. Her hearing is great and LOVES to run over to where voice are heard so she can say Hi, always running into their legs. God Bless Bruno and all dogs and cats with disabilities!

No, Bruno can hear the flames, feel the heat, and smell the fire. That's all. She is not seeing it at all. My blind cat was the same but he was completely blind. It's all the other senses creating interest.

Cats have multiple sensor around their body, not just the eyes.. They can easily smell you, and they know when you're around them..

Not saying that your wrong. But I have seen vid of cats that have had their eyes removed, and it is honestly impressive watching them run around and play. Like they can see perfectly. Their other senses give so much more information to them then ours, its really just amazing. Seeing a completely blind kitten run up and jump tackle a other none blind kitten with perfect precision.

Cats have superior spatial memory, even better than dogs (probably due to them always jumping and climbing a lot), so they have a perfectly accurate map of their house and garden in their brains. That's why it is important not to move furniture around, not to leave the vaccuum in the middle of the room, and to keep doors open. Then, they can run through the house at top speed and jump onto furniture from a full run, just like a seeing cat can.

Cats hold a special place in hearts. If he was neutered had makes them fat. Running doesn't fixed it. I have had cats off & on for 65 years. They choose their person. Bruno must have chosen you & tolerates everyone else. He isn't a dog, he is a regal cat. The dogs are his subjects. 😹

I am a cat person, allergic so cant have one, but this is wonderful... such an endearing little guy. I can see him as their best cat at their wedding!! Wearing a tux. This cat uses his third eye, the inner eye, no joke! Children can learn it too when early in age, there is a video about it here on YT, He acts like he can see cause he can. he does not need his physical eyes. Magical to see this from an animal so clear. I love this cat, he made me cry cause of the love that he oozes and the joy he is to everyone , wauw, he's got the universe in his eyes

What a wonderful story about one of the coolest and cutest cats I've seen. I am both a cat AND dog person. I can and do love them both equally, but this cat would certainly become my fave of all-time if he was mine. I recently lost my 18 year old cat and this was posted on the day I decided to adopt a fully blind senior cat from the local vet. I fell in love with him just from seeing his flyer and learning his back story (fixed, declawed and found stumbling along the highway). He's a total love bug. I can't wait to bring him home 💜

I find it funny when a non Cat person says : "he greets me like a dog" haha, I've had cats my whole life and they always came running when I came home, if they wouldn't already be there before entering. I've actually read that even if they're blind some of them can kind of see Shadows so maybe that's like how blind she is just where she could still see Shadows or plus when you lose one ability another sense goes up

Every living creature has value. You are so right. I believe that God created animals for our enjoyment, companionship, and unconditional love and we must return it all back to them. Even animals you never thought of as a pet you see someone playing ball with them, sitting on the grass with their head in your lap, that's what a cow will do. Also pigs are very smart animals and can love the same as a dog and cat. Humanity needs to learn that all animals are God's gift to us. If I was younger an d had the money I'd buy a farmette and take in elderly animals who need one last family to love and would foster older children to teach them how precious animals are to us.

He doesn't "Greet {you} like a dog when {you} get home." He greets you like a cat; like a cat who has been shown love, kindness, and attention; like a cat not treated like a piece of furniture. Let's stop this BS about cats being "just like a dog". I promise you as a cat person: if cats were like dogs, I'd despise them. Cats are cats and unlike any other species. Dogs are dogs. I like dogs to be like dogs and I love them too. Let cats be cats--social if socialized; loving if loved; smart if attended to/taught/treated like family.
