Thomas Friedman and Ray Dalio Discuss the Changing World Order

Legendary investor Ray Dalio, in conversation with Thomas L. Friedman, discusses how turbulent economic and political periods such as our current moment are echoed in the past, and how to weather the changes these moments may produce in the future. Ray Dalio, a global macro investor for more than 50 years and founder of Bridgewater Associates, is the author of The Changing World Order: Why Nations Succeed or Fail. Thomas L. Friedman (moderator) is a three-time Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist whose foreign affairs column in the New York Times reports on US domestic politics and foreign policy, Middle East conflicts, international economics, the environment, biodiversity, and energy.

It is a government inspired crisis this time. The Treasury have to sell Bonds to cover the trade imbalance and the government spending imbalance. In order to sell them they have to raise interest rates and the old long-term, low risk, low interest, AAA investments (including Treasury Bonds), held by the banks (often due to government regulatory policy), become next to worthless. The next milestone is the 15th when the government issue a new batch of Bonds. I have approximately 350k stagnant in my portfolio that needs growth. What is the best way to take advantage of this downturn?

The essential thing that everyone should be thinking about right now is investing in non-government sources of income. Especially in light of the current global economic crisis. It is still a wonderful moment to invest in gold, silver, digital money, and stocks.

Very good. I have worked in China for over 35 years. I agree about Confusionism. They know how to keep their loyalties in line. I have studied Confusionism to understand them. Well it's time for the BRICS- New World Order to come up with a default reserve currency or simply go back to gold as the reserve. It will be too chaotic for each country to trade in their respective currencies with the daily change in exchange rates.

Thank you for the video, I found out that investing is not for everybody, you just need a strong stomach too see your portfolio go down. It might be wiser for a novice to start with copy trading investing, but it is not easy. To invest in growth stocks it is another level, definitely you need to know what are you doing.
