We are a couple who are building our own home from the ground up in the mountains of West Virginia. After living near the city our entire lives we finally decided to sell it all, pack up our 3 kids and live in an RV on our 73 acres while building our own debt free, off-grid house and learning to live a more self-reliant life.

Glad to see Josh able to get out and do a little work because trust me I know how being down and stuck in the house will drive you absolutely insane. As a single Mom of five, now all grown, I built a barn, with structure help green house and many interior projects, and created a home for our family. Of coarse I had a house built in 1870’s. I learned and pushed myself to do the “guys” stuff.well done Erin. Please pull your hair back when working near the saw.You’re beautiful no matter what you do with your hair.

Good Almost Heaven Afternoon to y'all!! I've kept you in my prayers for Josh's quick recovery. On the 22nd of November, I just had my 9th and final Right knee Replacement and Reconstruction Surgery. I'm home from the hospital getting ready for PT to start tomorrow.

@@cbquid2513 thanks much. 7 of the surgeries was due to 3 infections that set in after my first surgery in June 2016. I was hospitalized 5 months from June-October 2016. They put a Medicated Concrete Block Infused with Antibiotics in place of the Titanium Prosthetic Knee and it has to be in there for 2 years minimum. But Covid-19 delayed us and 2 years. Then took another year to get everything scheduled and set up between my Orthopedic Surgeon, Plastic Reconstruction Surgeon, Infectious Disease Specialist, Hospital and Physical therapy. But, surgery went fantastic and I'm doing MUCH better than surgeon's expected. Already weight bearing.

When reading through some of the comments I found that there are so many men who are in awe of this lady's wonderful resourcefulness. Guys, Please. There are a great many women out there who are very resourceful and capable and always have been throughout history. Love of family, country and community drives us. Erin is a prime example. @@miptzi This girl has worked along beside my dad watching and learn since I was young. He was a double amputee (legs) so a a small child I was a hand me get me kid of girl. My first husband didn't do manual labor he said he was to smart to have to use his hands. I worked with my husband fixing up home we ever bought. I have my own tool boxes that he is not allowed to touch. I've never had the muscle to do all the heavy lifting like Erin. I'm sixty four now so I can't really do a whole lot now. I'm getting over having my second shoulder surgery and trying to get over. Most of what I do know I learned from my dad.

Erin your circular saw cut added character to the shelves! Spot on! Yes Erin your narration about you and Josh being that team! This has been working for my wife and I now since 21 years. There’s nothing more rewarding as to having that partner who “does” it with you! I remember in the beginning of our marriage when I asked my Wife “darling? Can you hand me a Phillips?” And she replied, what size? Me??? She, well there are at least 4 sizes of Phillips in every screw driver set, so what size? Me, beats me a Phillips, because frankly I never bothered to wonder about the size of a Phillips! But I knew she was it! We cleared 6 acres of land off of blackberry bushes and turned the nothing in to a park! Nothing more rewarding than to sit back and tell your wife, Darling, we did that all by ourselves! You both keep rocking! As I enjoy every of your installments!

Now that you are building a place for tools in the trailer, please take time to take security into consideration. As a trade myself, it’s always a concern that ppl steal other ppls tools and property. We had our trailer stolen. Locks, security cameras are a must now unfortunately.
