This is actually the first chopstick tutorial I've ever seen to actually make sense because it starts with the bottom one! All others I've seen are like "grip the top one like a pencil then slip the other one in inside the thumb" and that's the story of why I've always been bad at chopsticks 😅

@therealnancycarolРік тому
I can use them, not exactly like that, but good enough to pick up a grain of rice. I do it my way, which isn't something people would notice I don't think and personally I love them. I'm not Asian, but my father would not allow us to have any Chinese takeout food unless we used chopsticks exclusively, so I learned to use them as a toddler. His rationale was that if you ate an ethnic cuisine, you ate it the same way the people who made it would eat it.

coolensam, You aren't applying enough pressure on the bottom chopstick with ringfinger and thumb. Press up with your ring finger and down with base of thumb to prevent slipping/sliding. It takes practice to strengthen your ringfinger, try picking up things with it and thumb for a few days

The practically efficient technique of holding a pair of chopsticks 🥢 is to use the upper portion of the thumb to press a chopstick on the tip of the middle finger and use the centre portion of the same thumb to press another chopstick on the tip of the ring finger. You're capable of moving both of the two chopsticks 🥢 in question simultaneously.
