The ultimate irony is that it took a Canadian to go down there, and explain to Americans what they've got. Sometimes it takes a bit of an outside perspective I guess. I know a lot of Canadian ex-pats living in the US now, and they all seem to share a certain "Americans don't get how good we've got it down here" sentiment.

Iduknow, here where I live you cant cross the pedestrian crossing On a bike. I did it, got stopped by the cops. Stopped, put my bike on stand, pit my hands to the side, waited for them to get near, told them I'm gonna reach for my papers, admitted what I did was against accepted norms. Got off with a slap on the wrist. It's illegal to drink in a public area...like a park. We were, friends were loud, cops came. I did the exact same, got told to go up the stairs bit my friends who were making a shitshow...well I understood in 1 minute why I was told to go up the stairs, 4 vans showed up and took my friends away. Friends is a strong word, people I'm acquainted with. Maybe it's just my experience but so far as I was compliant and admitted to what I did wrong nothing bad happened.
