To me music and poetry especially spoken word are the universal language not just of the heart but the soul. Thank you so much Tom for all of your words from every song, spoken word your i interviews. Especially the youtube one's. It's just like you said in an interview a couple months ago. Your career, heart, mind and soul have all melded together now. It can truly be felt all the way back to your older songs as well as the newest. I am a 42yr old mother of 3 who lost all 3 of my young children in 2009 to the systems as a result of not asking for help and getting mental health and then failing faith as a result of a cancer diagnosis at the same time that I was trying to ask for help. Even asked for parenting classes poor. I fought in court over a year and 2 of kids were severely injured within the 1st of those months and they NEVER had been hurt in my care. Only to learn that CPS already has everyone setup to fail. They get to many big bonuses for every child adopted and there was no way they would ever get them back with how reckless I could prove they were with my childrens safety. My children were and still are my life. Even if it's without contact. Panic, depression and agoraphobia are my biggest issues. I try to slowly go of the meds as well. I like in minnesota just on the edge of minneapolis the George Floyd stuff happened just down the street from my house and I grew up poor from the sticks so I relate to so much of your story! I didn't realize how much this would impact me until the words starting rolling through my head. Every syllable was like a crashing wave in my mind until the final word spoken made me run from my desk at work to a private room where I could cry. No one is alone. No matter how alone you feel. This week, I've leaned on this man's art harder than almost anything else in my 36 years. The blood on my hands was for nothing, but I'm gonna stick around, someone might need me more than I do and I got to make sure I'm here for them.

This hit me so hard i recently lost my wife and i use her phone so it feels like she is still here and ive been fighting drinking everyday when i was at my worse i was drinking atleast a fifth a day if not more for about a year straight and ive been sober for about a month and its still real hard so tom if u see this thx for letting me know that its not just me

man this hit home, im not that same person anymore, but theres residue left of him, and every day dealing with stresses of a life that feels so unnatural to my being ,feels like having to be on guard 24-7 watching over his grave to make sure he isnt resurected, and at the same time going on the offensive arming myself with knowlege and turning it into wisdom through application, it gets lonely there arent manny out there who travel the same direction, ive had to pick my self up brush it off and rebuild so manny times i ought to have been my best friend, but i hated my self back then, im only now realising whos footsteps were in the sand carrying me when i was in pieces, it was me but it was also something higher, didnt give it a name or worship because now were so close we may as well be one, we are one, i found a higher power not up in heaven but within myself, its now the beat of my heart ,the song of my soul, its the one thing thats never left me, that celebrates me when im broken for getting back up, and celebrates me when im up for staying humble and helping the broken, it said it had a message for me to pass to the world, the message is my life and you arent alone

I'm usually not an open person but this really got me. I have been through a lot that most people won't even believe and when my husband had me listen I cried because every word that Tom says explains what I feel. There are never any artists that say this and they usually talk about drugs, sex, money but Tom is real. I admire him for being himself and speaking the truth when no one else will. We need more artists like him and I'm grateful for my husband having me listen to this because I know that an artists understand what people like me are going through. I have recently started watching Tom’s videos. I am someone that has PTSD, depression, social anxiety, and general anxiety. I know what it’s like to deal with my triggers, which is different from others. Tom has beautifully put into words things that I can’t say. He has made me realize that I am not alone, and that it’s ok to be different.

I don’t cry but this made me cry. I’m there. Ready to jump off the cliff. The depression is larger than life and swallowing me whole. No one is there for you when you’re this low. That’s the truth.

I lost close friends to suicide and drug overdose before I even graduated high school. Some of my closest friends were routinely aborting their babies and abusing drugs to deal with it, also, in high school. We were all loaded AT school. Hurting ourselves and each other. The mental health crisis in this country is very serious. Now that I’m grown, and have survived this long, I’m reading The Underground History Of American Education and Dumbing Us Down, and realizing this is actually a manufactured crisis. I encourage T.M. and his #HOG fam to read Piercing The Darkness as well as the John Taylor Gatto books mentioned above. These are dark days in an wretched battlefield veiled as some kind of utopia. I love Tom Macdonald’s work because of the honesty.

I grow up in a christen and Pentacostal home got molested at a young age tryed to kill myself got older then years later got with with a man I loved gave birth to a 18 week old baby boy named Clayton that passed away because i gave birth early. I started popping pilling and became a alcoholic. I stopped popping pills but think about all the time because the drinking anit working anymore I have been listening to all your songs and your girlfriends yall are amazing I hope nothing but the best for you guys.
