Mega talent and brotherly love in that room. I loved this, and I especially loved "the surprise" when Henning May opened his mouth and that thunderous sound poured out, but this is not to take away from Frederik Rabe, whose voice is also fabulous - high, clear, lilting, simply a joy. What an artistic triumph of a collaboration. Thank you, guys.

Frederik Rabe _really_ nailed the introduction. I finally was able play the song with the volume up high enough to hear that undertone of grit in his voice. Chef's kiss. The instrumentalists, too. I could go on and on and on about how well-done so many things are. And Henning May went IN. This is one of the very few (maybe even sole) instances where I actually like a cover of a song, let alone like said cover _more_ than the original (though Suzanne Vega is an incomparable artist whose original will also forever be immortalized as the benchmark for the MP3). Well done to all, and a huge thanks to Vega for letting AnnenMayKantereit x Giant Rooks take the wheel for their own spin!

I don’t know how y’all did… My wife and I have been singing this song at our restaurant since we heard it. It’s so weird seeing it blow up now like it has but great at the same time. @@ooonyxxx intentionally singing the way he does is actually incredibly hard to do. You may not like the style, but to actually do what he does and have it been in tune, that’s takes a loooooot of practice. Very impressive stuff.

I suggest you check out their bands catalogue, AMK has great tunes like ausgehen, tommi, orangefield and pocahontas. Henning May the second singer likes writing songs in his native German. I've also read he doesn't want to become so famous he can't go to a football game casually.

the first time i saw these guys was in 2014 at the musikschutzgebiet festival in homberg, germany. the whole crew of annenmaykantereit came to the campground with their instruments and started people calling over to a circle. they claimed that they are going to be on stage this evening on the festival but are not that well known, so they kinda tried to get people to their gig. i joined the session with a couple friends and we were blown away by these guys music and especially the singer. now nine years later i am looking at this video with 92 million views. respect guys. vote this up so they can see this story, they'll probably remember this story. greetings from berlin!
