I broke my friends driver a couple of years back the first time he ever took me to the range. Literally on the first shot I hit the ground and the head rocketed about 40 yards. All the range had to stop and both floors of golfers laughed with me as I walked off shamed to pick up the head of the driver. We took it to a shop and they mentioned it was unfixable. My buddy was super cool and did not let me buy him a new one. We now play on a weekly basis and he has coach me to actually play decently but he never let me rebuy him a new one. It would be awesome if he wins it through this comment.
