The ATP actually often does that to emphasize how slowly a ball is going and still ends up being a winner. Just a way to underline the varied nature of a game that has gone increasingly monolithically geared towards baseline rallies and powerful topspin.

The amount of power and composure he has for such a young player...scary good. Definitely top8 potential and maybe even more than that.

I think the most important quality he has shown is he is never hurried into scrambling for shots, he's so calm and collected even in making very desperate saves, that really helps him to still return high quality shots when scrambling unlike most players who simply returns weak shots when pushed hard ... that quality I believe will carry him very very far...

Take a look at 0:37. Even though Wawrinka lost the point, he hit the most amazing shot of that rally when both players were at the net and Sinner smashed an overhead that landed at Stanimal's feet and he actually returned it!

Shapovalov is one of those super talented guys who will never make it. Tsitsipas will never make it either because he has a terrible attitude. I don't think he'll even win any grand slam at all. From what I've seen I do believe in Sinner

Nadal said in an interview that there were other examples of talented players who never made it because they didn't put in the work. He refused to mention their names, but I think he was referring to Gasquet. Then Dimitrov, but I wonder who else. And we can't really say that those players didn't make it at all. Just not full potential

I think Nadal was referring to Kyrgios .... because Kyrgios is the most obvious one who talks more than he trains ... Gasquet and Dimitrov both never had that IT factor in their games all along, so their losses seems to have nothing to do with how hard they work ...

There were a couple of overhyped players in the last couple of years (for their performances in 1 GS), examples are Tiafoe, Edmund. And then you also have the super talented players who don't care too much about tennis, such as Kyrgios, Nalbandian, Fognini.

@@sachaweinstein8771 Don't fill up the expectations. Gasquet was meant to be even better than Nadal. And as for Dimitrov, he took years until he made it there and only won those things because of the absence of Đoković and Federer/Nadal's missteps. Federer didn't played in Cincinnati and fucked up against Goffin in London, Nadal was injured. He didn't won anything after that, huge disappointment.
