But it’s for messing around with and keeping documents secret so its just ur balance of fun made and cost. £50 is probably what he *needed* to make in order to make a profit (which he needs to make in order to pay the dudes that actually make the stamps)

Eh, that's how merch is. Could say the same about all the clothing merch creators put out. It's not for everyone.

A custom stamp is 20$ on zazzle, so probably 10 to 15$ in large orders? or less with the right manufacturer. Custom sneaky easter-egg laden Box is probably 5-10$ or more. "UKposts merch" products like this are all always overpriced and not "a good value", but they are about supporting the creator as a non-advertising revenue stream in exchange for a small trinket.

pretty much, and here I was thinking, "well $10-$20 would be a pretty big markup, but it is branded and supports CGP" edit: guess you nailed that 3x too expensive number. Just did the division and that matches exactly my expected range., and even that would have been a big ask to me.

The price is what it is. Many forces cause a price to be set where it’s at. We don’t really know what the cost is but I’m going to guess it’s much higher that we might think. The quality I’m guessing should be very high, I have a hard time believing cgp gray is going to charge 10x for cheep $5 junk stamp. And of course there is economies of scale shipping and possibly import export costs if manufactured in a foreign country, labor costs and you have to pay someone to physically ship one item at a time to your house and book keep who was shipped what (unless you think cgp gray has access to slave labor). This is all to say it’s a complicated mater to make something and sell it. And I don’t expect for cgp gray to sell it at a loss to us. I can’t afford the stamp my self and that makes me a little sad. But to say it’s too expensive to buy a toy feels a little odd to me.

I think his upload schedule is absolutely fine. Even if some videos are more of an opinion-piece instead of a fact cannon, I enjoy all of them. You might not like the stamp, but I am sure somebody does. All in all, stop complaining. Especially if you are not a patron.

@@heroino89 I do like his videos, and I would like to see him upload more but he seems to be very worried about videos that aren't 100% perfect and has now already made multiple videos pretty much rallying everyone up to support him on Patreon because it's the only way for him to keep a decent salary without uploading. He also stopped Hello Internet for no reason. I'm not going to support someone on Patreon who produces such little actual content, why would I do it? Just to play a game with him once in a while?? Also, I'm a student so I don't have a disposable income yet, and he specifically told us (students) we shouldn't be paying. At this point, I feel like he just lives in his own secluded community of super loyal online fans who just nurture his ego and bank account. I'd much rather be watching CGP Grey videos and listening to the podcast than this shit. And you still think I would want to pay a premium for this??? Maybe 3 years ago yeah, now? No way.

@@Maxime_K-G I totally understand your criticism and I think it is definitely valid. I too would prefer more videos even if it meant that some mistakes sneak in. And why not? They could be addressed in the comment section. But I don't feel like we have a right to complain when we consume his content for free. I'm not saying that you should feel obligated to become a patron, I am not one either, but such criticism shows some undeserved entitlement. I am just happy whenever I see another upload :)

@@heroino89 Very true! I actually don't really care what he does. It's all obviously working out great for Grey and who wouldn't want to have the business model that he does? All I really want is for people to stop acting like he's somehow still one of the best YT creator in the world. It's just a bit of criticism that I feel like I shouldn't be alone on. Grey can do whatever he wants though. But that doesn't mean I will always be a fan of it. Good discussion though, not everyone on the internet is stubborn and intolerant.
