So it took me 35 years to figure out what I wanted to do. We have a bbq foodtruck. It just happens be bbq but I enjoy creating all kinds of food. We started with a pray, a smoker and a pop up tent. With that being said we also have a schoolie that when I have time I work on it but with supporting the family on one income is difficult at the moment. I built our trucks and did construction for 20 years prior. You all have motivated me to build when I can. The best piece of advice I’ve gotten which is from my wife who is my biggest motivation is just JUMP!! I hope you take the leap and do it. If we were closer we could collaborate on our build!

I started out by making candy and selling it. I couldn't keep up with the demand, and lost interest, so I decided to print t-shirts. (I should mention that I am disabled; I use a wheelchair.) Hi again from Australia, a midlife crisis is a turning point in your life. It is scary to think about a change of direction. But it's what makes you and your family happy. May I make a couple of points to hopefully make your choices easier? Firstly, you have to be happy in your work/life situation, if building busses makes you and your family happy, that's the main hurdle. Find a plot of land to either buy or rent where you can live and work and use as a base when travelling. find some part time work that will allow you time to build busses and produce your UKposts channel, Use your channel as a springboard to promote your business. Take on 1 build at a time to allow yourself time for prompt service and delivery. Always take pre-paid instalments on any build. don't know if these suggestions will help your decision process or not. But if you love doing something, do it. a happy worker is a happy family. Van

Funny brother I finished my first conversion when I was 35 or so and that's all I wanted to do also it's a tough call when you have kids your raising been there done that just follow your heart your wife will follow you as long as she's understood about what she needs in the dream you got this you have a great work ethic and just have an old soul personality just put the dreams on the table and take a chance Work will come and go. Hey, you both are experiencing what every couple have experienced once they hit the road! You need income, and you still want to be free!! Listen to Kels and Jay their last video! Jay loves building and done some beautiful rigs but! God has to be your guide for anything to work!! Seek Him for the knowledge you need to figure it out!

First, as a serial entrepreneur, I'd recommend keeping a day job while you get your business off the ground. Not necessarily the gig you have now, but a steady income that pays the bills keeps the banker and "bad luck" at bay. Second, on starting the business, widen your scope a little. For instance, rather than starting with buses, maybe start with customized trailers (cargo trailers and fifth-wheel/bumper-pull renos). This would give you some flexibility, reduce the learning curve (you don't need to become a mechanic too), and, since they are trailers, you could take them with you when you move from one area to another. Additionally, the client in many cases would provide the vehicle for you (don't do spec-build unless you're willing to risk selling at a loss), reducing your up-front investment and giving you a piece of titled property you could place a mechanics' lean against to insure you get paid. Or, perhaps, find a schoolie builder and do piecework for him/her: custom-finished cabinetry for instance, or maybe other pieces you know. I'm sure there are lots of wrench-turners that would love to do this in their shops with their slack time, but don't have the cabinetry skills necessary. Of course, you have to address the workspace issue, and camps/rv parks aren't going to do that for you. Good luck with the business. The tricky part is always getting it started. When I look at the various businesses I've started, the ones which were more specialized and easier to articulate what I did were the more successful. YMMV.

Brother, thank you for being transparent. I know that it is hard to do. While watching your video and listening to the anguish you are going through, this came to my mind. Genesis 12:1-3 (God's Word Translation) 1. The Lord said to Abram, "Leave your land, your relatives, and your father's home. Go to the land that I will show you. 2. I will make you a great nation, I will bless you. I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. 3. I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you, I will curse. Through you every family on earth will be blessed." God is calling you to come out of your comfort zone. Pray together with your wife and always be in agreement with each other. It is really scary to step out on faith and do something that is out of our comfort zone but as as it is written in Deuteronomy 31:8 (GW) "The LORD is the one who is going ahead of you. He will be with you. He won’t abandon you or leave you. So don’t be afraid or terrified.” I never comment on videos but was lead to do so on this one. I learned about your channel about a month ago and what got me more interested is that you lived in Humboldt, TN and I was only 30 minutes north of you in Kenton. You are doing what my wife and I desire so much to do. Our goal is to hopefully purchase our first bus, convert it (which I was hoping you would be the one to do), and for our family to hit the road and live life together. I also have 3 children (9 (boy), 7 (girl), & 5 (boy)) and spending time with them is heavy on my heart. I feel your struggle and can relate. Hi, I hear you loud and clear. I believe you are a man of God. If not, that would be the first thing you would take under consideration. God 1st. Family second and everything else 3rd in order of priority. When God is in the picture, all we have to do is ask Him to guide us. If you feel God is guiding you to do something, then listen carefully. God speaks in many different ways. In dreams, audible, in our hearts, through His Word, through a message being preached, through someone, through an opportunity. This one is tricky because there opportunities that seem good, but sometimes it stir us away from God's Perfect Will in our lives. You have to listen to your gut, very important. ( there have been preaching that claim the Holy Spirit resides in our gut) all I know once we are Sealed with the Holy Spirit, He lives within us. When the Holy Spirit quickens you to do something, and you do it, you feel the Peace of God. If you don't have God's Peace, you might be in the wrong direction. Also, everything works together for the good of those who love Him. You are the head of the household, you and your beautiful wife have to sit down and write down everything your and her heart desires. Once everything is in black and white, you begin to prioritize from #1 most important to the very, very least. That means one of you will have to sacrifice something for the sake of the family. It doesn't have to he permanent, just momentarily and maybe take turns. You mentioned a business, take a look at the economy and see where it's going, but if you walk by Faith and not by sight, then, you will listen to the Lord even though it might seem impossible for you or your wife to achieve at the moment. When God says "Go" you have to he like Abraham, Moses to follow His Lead. God knows what He is doing. He will never Leave you nor Forsake you if you are obedient to His Calling, whatever it is. You mentioned the children's age. They are young, but if you explain along the way how things should be and that you and your wife will be there for them no matter what? They will understand. Quality time doesn't mean 24/7 quality time with them means, to set up a schedule in a way thst you or your wife spend a solid hour with each one of them individually. Listen to their concerns, do things with etc. One hour is the least. For sure you and your wife should also give each at least an hr for self if not more a week to unwind. At least 2xs a month a date for you 2 love birds to requindle the romance and get into a deeper, more meaningful love relationship. The beauty of it all is that you 2 are very young and have so much going for you. In order to achieve all the above mentioned, requires discipline, commitment and relentless dedication. Rome wasn't built in one day. Neither a sound, happy, solid marriage not a happy nurturing, loving family. Not thst you don't have it now, but with so much going on in your spirit and maybe your wife's spirit, there will be bumps in the road if not planned carefully. I hope I had someone to give me this advice when I was your age and we went through the same thing you are going right now. I guess someone had to learn from mistakes to be able to troubleshoot and give a road map for others not to fall into the pit because others before you did. I hope this helps.
