Of all the Skoolies on UKposts, I am most impressed with this one! I have a bus the same length so it gives me a good idea of what can be done. The idea of the faucet becoming a shower is not only novel- Genius!

That is the absolute perfect bus for me!!! Exactly what I'm looking for, except one thing... I'd have to keep the wheelchair lift. Otherwise, I absolutely love how they set everything up! 💖💖🚌🚌🚌🚌💖💖

Love your bus, I live in Washington too. I am currently looking for either a trailor, or small motor home, stepvan, or small bus like yours. I love how you did your bathroom, it looks awesome. Thanks for sharing.

This is a followup to my previous question about recliners. If you do not mind me asking do you have any experience relaxing or falling asleep on a recliner ? How easy is it to fall asleep on a recliner ?

Hey guys, I love your bus!!! Your hinged solar is so simple compared to the alternative... Just 1 question, I can seem to find anything on Premium fridges... is it a freezer conversion, 12v? Please enlighten me... I am assuming that based on your thrifty budget that it too is thrifty... Thanks for sharing...

As a former school bus driver and knowing the busses are sold after they've already been driven MANY miles and even though school busses are well maintained they have issues...engine transmission etc I wish folks would tell about under the hood work that they did. Not details (I take vehicle to mechanic, I don't rebuild the transmission!) but give folks a heads up that it's not just all about making it a place to sleep.

I have a question. I am a single man in my late 30's. I am considering building a skoolie. Would it be possible to replace the small couch you have in your living area with a recliner ?

You could do whatever you want! You just might have to orient the recliner facing the front of the bus so you had room to recline.

@@StuTheBus I am considering purchasing eigther the Lazboy Greyson which is for a person up to 6 foot 2 or the lazboy randell which is for 6 foot 3 tall or taller. Would eigther of these large man recliners fit in the space where your couch is now ?

You would probably want to put it on some sort of spinning chair mount so you can turn it to the front or back and recline. There are a lot of examples of those in sprinters and other buses, but we don't have one. I don't know how big either of those recliners are, so you would need to measure everything. But if you plan it out, you should have no problem making it work.

I have 2 questions about the conversion process. In my research I have found companies that for the cost of components and services rendered they will build a skoolie per your plans and design if you do not have the skills or knowledge to build a skoolie yourself. Would it be a good idea to use a company to custom build the skoolie if you cannot do it yourself ? My other question is how did you finance the purchase of the bus and building of your skoolie ? Did you use personal funds or did you use a personal bank loan ?

Hi! We have no experience with companies since we built ours ourselves, but I’m sure there are good companies out there. We didn’t take out any loans, we bought the bus with cash from savings and then worked full time while we converted it and lived with my parents for a few months (rent-free, very generous of them) so with that money and the rest of our savings we were able to do the rest of the conversion. We also sold our cars just before we left for extra traveling cash. Hope that helps!
