My dealership couldn't even give me both correct keys for my new corolla. They gave one of my keys to some random person because they cant keep the keys for new cars organized when there are only 10 new cars on the lot. They lied to me about date the vehicle was incoming, they initially told me 3 weeks then after 3 weeks it was 2 more then it was "we have no way to know, maybe another month or two" . it took over 2 months. The insurance contractor that "they're not responsible for" even though she works in their building and was introduced by the salesperson, tried to commit insurance fraud by signing up to discounts that don't apply to me and raising my bill at the same time so she could get paid. I feel like this one is petty but I had to immediately clean and rewax a brand new car because they did such a terrible job you could glance at it and see the wax clumped up on it. it has been the hottest summer on record and If i didn't know better the paint would be messed up week 1 from cheap wax being baked onto the car American Toyota dealers are still just car dealers. love the corolla hatchback though.

It was literally the most valuable vehicle brand in the world until recently when Tesla beat it out. I can't show you just one Toyota that has lasted 20 years and is road-worthy, but I can show you millions. I have an 89 22RE 4WD Toyota pickup with the original engine and transmission with 400k on the clock and it has spent its whole life in Alaska. Not exactly the most forgiving environment for vehicles. In Afghanistan, we used Toyota Hilux and Landcruiser pickups that had been abused for years with a lot of miles. As far as I know, Toyota's "just in time" strategy is more about how they work with little or no inventory of materials beyond what is necessary for immediate production.
@Christopher_TG
@Christopher_TG 2 роки тому
Which contributes to this kaizen mentality. The just-in-time production method means that there's no incentive for Toyota plants to try and beat their deadlines or go ahead of schedule. They literally would run out of parts if they did that because of the just-in-time strategy. So instead, in the event that they're ahead of schedule, Toyota plant workers are incentivized use the extra time to figure out what could be improved about the car or the production methods rather than go ahead and get started on the next car.

My dad bought a 2013 Toyota tundra and was using it to haul our 33 foot travel trailer from Virginia to Alabama, with its bed still being filled to the brim with our shit, basically every summer and winter to visit family. It is also his daily driver so it just accrues tons of miles annually anyway. After 8 years of this heavy usage it has not had a single problem ever come up, not even a small issue. Just regularly expected maintenance. In comparison, my mom bought a 2010 Chevy traverse to use as her daily driver. It has only ever had to pull a small u-haul trailer once and typically is never even loaded with anything in general. In the 11 years we have had it the car has had its timing belt and fuel injectors replaced twice, just about every transmission component replaced once (including a complete replacement of the transmission with a new one we did about 4 years ago to try and get around the frequent transmission issues it was having). This newer transmission started to shift roughly about 3 months ago... The car has also had its power steering pump replaced and other power steering components replaced as well as several replacements of console electrical components. There are probably several other repairs that I Have forgotten about that had to be done. It's just not even a fair comparison between the two vehicles. My mom was trying to make it last while she went through college so she doesn't put tons of miles on a new car going back and fourth on a 40 minute round trip daily to her school and back but the traverse forced her hand. Just bought a new 2022 Camry hybrid a few days ago and has already put 130 miles on it and the gas tank only reached 3/4ths capacity yesterday. Those little things are fucking insane.

I've owned 2006 and 2009 Corolla sedans, and the 2017 Corolla iM (Scion iM) hatchback. All 3 vehicles were supremely reliable. My only major expense on my 2006 Corolla was the suspension rebuild at 110,000 miles (typical for any car). The only thing I didn't like on both the 2009 and 2017 vehicles was the clumsy electric power steering, in which I was never 100% sure what the wheels were doing with the lack of on-center steering accuracy. Didn't have any of those steering issues with my Camry or Tacoma rental vehicles. I've also owned 2014, 2018 and now 2022 Kia Rio's and prefer their interior designs and technology while still being very reliable, but you still can't go wrong with a Toyota.

I work at a Toyota Dealer and I heard many times in corporate training that we need to keep MPG way up and make hybrids more common on all our other vehicles in order to keep selling 4Runners, Tundra's, Taco's ect. Every truck dude who loves his V6 Taco should thank a Prius every time he sees one, that thing is the only reason you can have your truck.

One simple philosophy I have learned from working with Japanese OEM’s is “don’t fix what’s not broken.” Something like that. That’s why a lot of platforms get refined over the years but not totally gutted and redesigned. I think we can all learn a thing or two from that.

The Best car I ever owned was a 78 Toyota Corolla. My sister bought it from my grandma to get through college. It only had 21K miles. After my sister got out of college, I bought it off of her (90K miles). After college I wanted to buy a new car , but I kept driving it. It finally died at a whopping 488K miles in 02, so I bought a new Camry. I drove the Camry till 11, when I moved to north central WA state and needed a 4WD, so I bought a new Rav 4WD Limited with a 3.5 V6. 11 years later, I’m still driving my Rav . 🙌🙌👍😁

Hey I just recently discovered your awesome channel! Our family bought a Toyota Corolla 1981 model (2nd hand) back in 2010....it survived several floods and torrentous rains (im in the Philippines) and its the car I learned how to drive on, manual of course... before finally dying out on us in 2019. We even got to buy brand new parts for it up to 2019! We had to sell it to the chop shop. Tears were shed for that car. I will be buying my own car in the not too distant future and Toyota will be its brand. Great vid! But maybe someone told you this before but you sound like Jared from Wisecrack. NGL. Peace.

My father had a toyota corolla (mid 80's) that had nearly 200k miles before it got totaled in an accident. Up to that point it ran very well even better than our newer vehicles built in the mid to late 90's. So reliable that i bought an 88 pickup in 2008 and used it to make deliveries for my job without a single problem besides standard maintenance. Maintenance was so simple and straightforward. Practically like working on an American classic but with fewer cylinders and less power. So simple so easy so reliable. Pipe dreams are a reality with this brand.

I am a wholesaler who deals in 8 to 12+ year old cars or so regularly. I have been in the automotive field for 20 years and started the business 5 years ago..... I see a LOT of cars and test a lot of cars. I dont think people realize how unbelievably reliable they are. There is so little that fails its increible. When you factor in their inexpensive price... its truly shocking. Nothing is on their tier in the passenger car department. Not even honda. They are in a class on their own with no one near them and are very underrated/undervalued for how long they last but I see prices starting to catch up. Their batteries and battery systems last longer than anyone else as well..I could see a future where toyota is the only mass passenger car manufacturer. I would HIGHLY recommend investing in Toyota.
@SeudXe
@SeudXe 3 роки тому
I wouldnt say theyre unexpensive. Maybe if you are middle class but the working class need this kind of car the most and it can be pricey. People selling the car know how good it is so they will jack up the price and same for dealers.
