No they drafted strategically. They decided they needed someone who is mature and can play now, hence his 4 years in college. Someone who can play well, hence his great stats in college. And as a plus he’s connected the organization

Many teams don't want guys who played in college a long time. They want the sexy prospect, the guy that shows raw talent and upside. Trayce's game is solid and safe, but very effective. Many people think that he's probably maxed on potential but he's not. This is probably the reason people didn't want him. The warriors have vets who need players who can contribute now. They don't have time for a project so Trayce is the perfect fit for them. This is why other teams missed on him. They weren't thinking rationally.

The Warriors luck was that no other team drafted TJD before the Warrior’s turn. The 49ers were lucky that every other team passed on Purdy. When a team makes their SELECTION and the player exceeds the expectations of all the other teams, THAT IS NOT LUCK. That is the result of a good organization.
