The score cards seem to me unreasonable. Lomachenko had clearly won the later rounds, and in a much more dominant fashion than how Lopez won the earlier rounds.

Loma will come back. True thirsty champions come back. Loma had far better punching stats. He threw fewer than Lopez but hit most of the punches than Lopez did. Had loma started earlier he would have won the match. He just took the wrong method and tactic. I still think loma is a better fighter.

We all noted that Lomachenko did well in the latter rounds, but what was significant is that Lopez fell apart when he was forced to fight on the inside. Loma may not get a rematch -- and I think a fight or two first will be useful to work off a little ring rust -- but if he does, Lopez' weakness will not be overlooked by such a skilled strategist as Lomachenko' s father. Or by others.

I watched Loma's highlights more than Lopez's. At one moment I thought Loma was a boxer and Lopez was a fighter. And when a boxer and a fighter collides, almost always, the boxer comes out victorious. I did not expect the fight to go this way. I was wondering why Loma's corner was willing to give up the first half of the fight. Did they truly believe he could knock Lopez out in the later rounds? Or, did they just try to settle for a draw? The second half was the real action, but too late for Loma to catch up on points. Downloading your opponent's performance data within the first 5-6 rounds is too much; 1st up to 3rd round would be enough and real boxing would start right after. You still can study your opponent within the 3 minutes of every round, if you are truly smart. Had Loma displayed his superior movement at the early rounds and threw some more punches it would have been a different outcome. I'm sure though Lopez had something to respond had Loma used his craft he is most known for. Great performance for Teofimo Lopez - a truly boxer fighter! I wonder where Loma is now in pound for pound rankings, or when he is going for a great comeback. I hope there will be a rematch between these two great performers.
