Circuito Cerro Castillo (ou Travessia Las Horquetas), que engloba 5 dias de caminhada com 4 pernoites. Já tentamos fazer essa trilha em 2018, mas o tempo não colaborou.
Desta vez, o clima também atrapalhou, mas não voltaríamos para casa sem os 54 km cumpridos. Monitoramos 5 apps de previsão do tempo e acabamos postergando em uma semana o início da trilha para ter a janela perfeita principalmente nos dias 2 e 3.
O importante era passar o Paso Pénon e transpor o Morro Negro sem vento, pois eram locais bem expostos e complicados. Na madrugada anterior ao primeiro dia, nevou - em janeiro! - e ventou muito. Mas isso estava previsto.
Mesmo assim, confesso que foi duro sair com chuva, vento e frio, mas o primeiro dia era o mais fácil, então foi relativamente tranquilo.
E, para nossa sorte, os apps estavam certos!
Os três dias seguintes foram espetaculares! Sol, céu azul e - inacreditável - calor! O trecho mais difícil foi a descida - interminável - do Morro Negro, com imensas pedras empilhadas e afiadas...
Todo cuidado para escolher onde colocar o pé para não se desequilibrar e se machucar. Esse foi o trecho de descida mais difícil da nossa história de caminhadas... Mas a trilha, de modo geral, foi de dificuldade média para os nossos padrões. E a paisagem?! Basta dizer que entrou para a lista de nossas caminhadas preferidas da vida!!! Mais bonita até que o vizinho famoso Torres del Paine.
Inicio da trilha fica a 20 km da Villa Cerro Castillo em direção a Coyhaique, contratamos um transfer.
Os campings não precisa reservar, só precisa fazer o registro na sede do parque e pagar uma taxa para a entrada no parque, o pagamento é no fim da trilha e somente em dinheiro.
Os campings são bem simples, tem mesas e bancos, casinha com privada e água dos rios, filtramos e tratamos a agua com cloro pois tem gado na região.

Caso não tiver todo esse tempo para fazer a trilha completa, pode fazer a trilha de um dia que vai até a Mirante da Laguna Cerro Castillo.

Cerro Castillo Circuit (or Las Horquetas Crossing), which encompasses 5 days of walking with 4 overnight stays. We already tried to do this trail in 2018, but the weather didn't cooperate.
This time, the weather also got in the way, but we wouldn't return home without completing 54 km. We monitored 5 weather forecast apps and ended up postponing the start of the trail by a week to have the perfect window, especially on the 2nd and 3rd.
The important thing was to pass Paso Pénon and cross Morro Negro without wind, as they were very exposed and complicated places. In the early morning before the first day, it snowed - in January! - and it was very windy. But that was predicted.
Even so, I confess that it was difficult to go out in the rain, wind and cold, but the first day was the easiest, so it was relatively calm.
And luckily for us, the apps were right!
The next three days were spectacular! Sun, blue sky and - unbelievable - heat! The most difficult section was the - endless - descent of Morro Negro, with immense piled and sharp stones...
Be careful when choosing where to place your foot so as not to lose your balance and injure yourself. This was the most difficult section of descent in our hiking history... But the trail, in general, was of medium difficulty for our standards. And the landscape?! Suffice it to say that it made the list of our favorite walks in life!!! Even more beautiful than its famous neighbor Torres del Paine.
