Hot tip: there are a bunch of technical arguments for when to use and not use commas, but the simple version is that you use a comma whenever you pause mid-sentence. If you think of writing like music, a period is a full rest and a comma is a half rest. If you can figure out diction, or just sound out a sentence, you'll know where commas are supposed to go. The technical rules are that you're supposed to use a comma to separate clauses, interjections, and items on a list. I’m not as familiar as Noah yet but I’m actually surprised how much you can make with it. I built part of a Pokémon battle, intro and all, and am working on a FF style RPG fight with the menus and everything.
