Nice! I have an SJ (2015 XT) and the older SG9 XT. Hadn’t appreciated how good the SJ is off-road. More capable than I realized.

That appears to be a good road. I would hope that a Subaru Forester can do better than that. Beautiful scenery.

Beautiful landscapes are not always difficult to access 😉. I filmed a few complicated passages in others vidéos but that's not what I'm looking for (even if it's fun). The Forester is an all-terrain vehicle but not suitable for trials.

I got a 2024 and I’m scared about the cvt but decided to buy it anyway. How is the cvt? Anything I can do to help extend the life?

2014 purchased in 2014. 117,000 kilometers. No CVT or other issues. Off-road it's fantastic comfort. The "maintenance-free" aspect is strange but for now everything is ok.

Is it the stock model or did you modify suspension/tyres?

Stock for suspension and Continental cross contact tyres. I added a real spare wheel too.

Are you using X-mode here? With X-Mode the car will automatically lock the free spinning wheels to push power into the wheels under load and get you over the bumpier terrain. It'll also automatically control the speed of your descent on a per-wheel basis instead of having to manually apply the brakes (which goes to all 4 wheels) for a way more controlled descent.

Hi. Of course I use it for the reasons you mention. What is less known is that this system is also very useful and effective for climbing difficult hills, especially rocky or snowy ones. I don't remember using it in this video. An example of use here: ukposts.info/have/v-deo/e6hidYamqo5ksXk.html. (very steep descent of a rocky path)
