The earthquake here in the Philippines was very strong here last night around 10:33 pm and it took a long time before it stopped, maybe 30-40 seconds before the shaking subsided. It was my first time to experience such a strong earthquake. It's scary😢😢

I still remember the earthquake and tsunami that hit Japan in 2011. I was a kid and was watching videos of cats being swept up and cars being absolutely demolished by the waves of water plowing through the city. Be safe, Japan and the Philippines, not that this means much.

Prayers for these countries, they suffered a lot from forces of nature.

This old earth is having a bit of indigestion with Iceland, then Etna now Japan. It makes us realise we are really not in charge of our future, there are greater powers under our feet than we can control.

I felt that here in my province even though it wasn't in the epicenter. I thought that we'd be having another one of those seven something maggies here but luckily we got the lower intensity.

We had to climb up to high ground it was a mountain. It just stopped and i hope it never happens again cause that was one of the most terrifying situations of my life.

We're from pH 100 km away from epicenter, I go outside at 10pm and the ground were shaking for about a min

7.5 is pretty big, I was in Loma Prieta which was 6.9

Multiple quakes in the 5 & 6 range last was a 5.4 still popping with aftershocks

Yup. Japan has earthquakes but always philippines have earthquake especially in mindanao island that always hit by earthquake. Last weeks ago in november 17, mindanao was hit by 7.2 magnitude earthquake and it's very scary because the saranggani province which hit by earthquake is close to our place. And now again mindanao was hit by 7.5 magnitude earthquake is terrifying.

Almost hit our area luckily the earthquake stopped😭😭

I'm a Filipino., I was 10 yrs old when I experienced the 1991 powerful earthquake.. So scary and frightening.. That sounds coming underground is more terrifying. I'm still blessed and lucky.

I dont know why Philippines has been experiencing back to back earthquakes, a new one actually happened today on December 5, which is 5.9 magnitude. It was near the capital. I felt that recent earthquakes while I was at school.

Still, its disappointing that Sky News AU of all agencies disregards this pretty major story concerning the Philippines, and rather focuses on Japan in its headline. Says alot about you think of the country, even though hundreds of thousands of Australians have family and friends in the Philippines (over 400,000), and it being a close naval and English-speaking democratic ally. Surely your focus should have been on the Philippines in this story, and not some far-fetched model that Japan could be hit by a tsunami 3000 miles away. For example: Are the Filipino people okay? Was damage extensive? Any idea of casualties? Aftershocks? Are there any Australians caught up in the earthquake (of which there are bound to be)? Any helplines concerned relatives and friends could call?

I was playing geometry dash and than my moms phone had an alert about an earthquake and than we went under the table the lights starting moving and than the table starting moving so we went outside and i felt so cold my mom went inside the house to give us all a jacket than she didn’t know where my jacket is and my dad let me wear his jacket and than i asked mom : “Did the earthquake end?” and she said yes than we went back in the house seconds later.
