My father used this weapon in 1980 when he was in the Isparta recruit unit in Turkey. Kırıkkale (City) is also produced.

I was looking through my shop books from the 90s. I was buying Turkish Mausers from Navy Arms / Gibbs for $19-$29 each depending on model. Sold them for $35 to $50 each. They flew off the racks. While well used, and I mean well used, they still had decent bores. Better than most refurbished Mosins. Definitely

My first Mauser was a Turkish one, paid for it, got it, went to go shoot, didn't fire, take it to a gun smith, get told I was sold a wall hanger. Was a painful day to learn that.

If you like that old Mauser, you should pull the old Turkish ammo apart, and reduce the powder charge by 5 grains. You risk cracking the stock on that rifle.

Watch out for the Turkish ammo. Over the years powder has degraded to point where it may not be safe to shoot. Nice rifle, got one just like it a few months ago.

That had to be the smoothest stripper-clip reload I’ve ever seen.

My son bought one of these, kind of cheap. I cleaned it out for him, destroyed a bronze bristle brush doing it. About 200 patches later, its clean. Dam thing is an impressive shooter despite being rough as hell.
