I have been to America for 9 months, traveled through different states, was invited to eat and sleep with people who had Navajo backgrounds, never seen more homeless people in my life, you will see plenty in San Francisco, I found the people in the South very friendly but this was before Trump was elected president, I told people I met in the South I was European, slums and ghettos in Turkey are a walk in the park when compared to America, my navigation had troubles in LA so I ended up in a non tourist neighborhood in South central, I had a rental car with a license plate from a different state, I realized it could draw attention, luckily for me the locals understood my situation and told me how to get on my way to my motel, Turkey is heaven when compared to America.

what I heard online most of the time is "Turkey is a Arab ummah country why there's racism against illegal immigrants, you and your ancestors are disgusting" kind of things we also work 50+ hours a week just to get $400 a month. İmmigrants don't pay taxes , get paid even if they are not working , edit videos to look like they are being abused , buy citizenships, vote for that one specific person I don't like it's been years since war ended and most of them refuse to go because life is easier in Turkey.

c and ç are entirely different sounds. c is pronounce like the j (or in some cases g) sound in English. For example when you pronounce Jacket, Jam, Joke...(or gym, gigantic, ginger) the first letters sounds just like c in Turkish. on the other hand ç is pronounced like the ch sounds in words like change, chicken, chain, chin... You can't use them interchangeably. Both the meaning and pronunciation differ immensely. for example: çam = pine cam = glass çin = china cin = genie çaba = effort caba = into the bargain (used more with the suffix -sı. 'cabası' meaning top it all, cherry on the top. however if you put -sı after çaba, as in çabası, it would mean his/her/its effort) çay = tea cay (caymak) = retract (to retract) çan = bell can = spirit/life

+ to the first reply, ç gets a lot more stressed whatever the word it gets in.

The letter "c" makes the /ʤ/ sound (like the "j" of "John") The letter ç makes the /ʧ/ sound (like the "ch" of "chase") It's an important difference in Turkish. For example: "Çin" means "China" in Turkish, meanwhile "cin" means "genie" "Açık" means "open", but "acık" is the imperative form of "to get hungry" (translates to "get hungry") And etc.

About the economy, living paycheck to paycheck is now a luxury in Turkey, at least if you are just starting your life without any help from your parents. Because there are universities everywhere in the country (more universities less quality of education) everyone is either overqualified for the job they do or doesn't have a job at all. In the early 2000s the minimum wage in Turkey was only given to people who just started that job or to people who do specific works which do not require much effort. But now even people who gave their whole life to a company as blue collar workers make minimum wage. When I went to primary school my father was the only one who worked and he took care of us well. He used to buy bags full of snacks and food I love before coming home every evening. Now my both parents are working. Thinking about what we eat tonight? I must add that we own a home in Istanbul which is a miracle come true for a Turk right now. Thanks to my grandma and granddad who gave us money to close our debts every year. They own a hazelnut garden. Now think how on earth a Turk just got his papers from a university would be able to afford a living with minimum wage while house rents are near double in some places. You may say "go to a place where rents are lower". Those places are usually out of Ankara, İzmir, İstanbul and such which are just made up of farmers and provide near no jobs to someone who is in his/her 20s and wants to live their life to the fullest. I meant to at least see some places beyond Turkey and have fun some nights. You already can't afford it in rural places which don't have anywhere to have fun. Also have people who will not tolerate the modern way of life. They might not say anything directly but will talk about you just behind enough that you will hear them but they won't face consequences.

Also America is a big place with a stronger passport than Turkey. So one who is ambitious, has goals and has a lot of opportunities in America or they can try it in a different country. Turkey does not have that.

Well said! I'm an ethnic Türk, but born in Canada now living in the United States. Everything you said is 100% fact I would add the crimes in US are incomparable.
