This video is a compilation of 5 projects I built from free pallets that I found on the side of the road, Facebook Marketplace or received with deliveries. I sold 3 of these projects for a combined revenue of $3,110, and kept the other two for myself. I hope this compilation inspires you to turn trash into treasure and start woodworking!

I am a fellow wood worker as well and will fill you in on a little secret. The best virgin wood pallets you can use are free at furniture stores. Their wood is clean and usually a hard wood since they need strong wood for shipping their clean new furniture and rust free nails, you’re welcome!! Love the videos, keep’em coming.

I absolutely LOVE that you're doing this. A couple of tips so you can do this for a long time: 1) Take your watch off, wear masks, wear gloves, wear steel toe boots 2) Use a push block with your table saw. It's never a problem until it is. Most people would give this two thumbs up if they still had both. 3) Watch a video on proper table saw steps - I noticed you stand behind your saw directly with your body in full sight of the blade - this is a quick death / dismemberment. You want to stand to the side of your blade so that if there is kickback from your piece, it will fly UP (always) and miss your groin (death), your face (death), or your arm (Dismemberment). 4) Get yourself a foam featherboard by Bow. If you put this on your table saw, it will help keep pressure against your fence for straight edges and way less chance of kickback.

By the way, my brother has MS himself and has been seriously blessed to stay working. Anyhow, I hope this was okay to ask. You take care.

I was a paramedic. I responded to a 911call for a "cut finger". We got there and saw a man in his garage... Next to his bloody table saw holding his finger... Kinda attached. It much was more than a cut. Half of his finger was only holding on by the skin on the top. In woodworking school, I was taught to always use a push stick. Admittedly, before this other guys incident, I'd rip boards using my fingers. Albeit carefully. After seeing what a table saw does to fingers, I never worked without a push stick again. Lol.

Yucca 😂 Stumbled across this because my 17 year old has been dabbling in woodworking for about 3 years but wants to tackle some larger projects. When I saw the title I was intrigued, but the longer I watched the more excited I became because I actually have 4 sons and 3 daughters and they are all “makers” in their own way. I can envision my oldest son 3D printing jigs and templates and my 15 year old son pouring epoxy resin into table tops. My oldest daughter is a wood burning guru/artist. I’m showing this video tonight for family movie night to help get their creative juices flowing and further spark their entrepreneurial spirits.

I play around pallets a lot. Being a 70 year old grandma I try to make it as easy as possible. I purchased an air locker AP700 pneumatic nail remover gun. Got myself a large garbage can placed hard styrofoam on the bottom and a piece of plywood with a 2 inch opening for the top. It works like a charm. Don’t know how I ever did without. Well worth the investment. Love your work! 💕
@Andie1951

I can't picture this. What did you make? I can't figure out what purpose the 2" opening serves. I can't envision what kind of garbage can you bought. 😊 I am pretty creative myself and this is frustrating my brain.😂
@Yasminenature
@Yasminenature 2 місяці тому
@@Andie1951 I use a large garbage can like about waist high. I placed styrofoam in the bottom to prevent the nails from bouncing up. I had an old piece of plywood that was a bit bigger than the top of the garbage can so I used it as a cover than a cut a 2 inch wide slit that goes approximately from the centre of the plywood to the edge of the plywood. Then I put my pallet board on top of the plywood with the head of the nail over the slit so the nail can go inside the garbage can. Hope this helps.

It's beautiful to see people stilling honing and practicing these arts. I call it art because of my stepdad. He was a true master at woodwork. His ability was flawless, his speed almost effortless, and he could make you anything you'd dream up. I watched him build a bench/guitar case that was shaped like a coffin, for a musician. The top of the bench flipped open like a piano seat, and inside were hinges that lifted up and out to hand you the guitar. The guy was so happy that we ended up building him kitchen table and chairs. I mostly helped with assisting and sanding 🤣😂 (wish I would've taken it more serious when I was a kid helping him) I play a bunch of instruments, write, and paint in acrylics & oils. So I did end up finding the artist in me...but I wish I had taken my creative nature into building things like this. Very cool

Blueberries. Pineapple. Yucca. My dad always used to have a woodworking project going on in our basement. As a kid I loved to go watch him work and smell the fresh-cut lumber. He never had any power tools, so everything was done with hand saws, planers, hammers, screw dirvers and sanding blocks. I get a wonderful sense of blissful nostalgia watching your videos. Congratulations on your marriage! I’m very happy that you’re finally using safety wood push tools on your table saw! It’s a great example of how to safely work! By the way, in August 2021, when I bought my home up in the northeastern mountains of Lanaudiere, Quebec, Canada, the whole property was filled with pallets … tons and tons of pallets on top of other pallets to the tune of close to 10 feet high and occupying a great portion of 35000 square feet!! Many pallets were rotting and attracting giant carpenter ants! Plus, I couldn’t see all the beautiful trees in the woods! So, needless to say that I gave a lot away and took all the rest apart and cut them up to burn in my indoor and outdoor fireplaces! this year 2023 I had a super major setback that prevented me from working outside and cutting more pallets (Which I really miss doing!), and I hope and pray to be able to continue in the spring & summer of 2024! Wishing everyone who watches this a Wonderful 2024! “Yucca” Joshua Tree

I was wondering why everyone was commenting yucca. Found out!!! Glorious video that captured my attention the entire time. You are so positive, happy, unstressed, and hard working!!! Im so proud of you! What an inspiration! That pallet desk with the diamonds was just awe striking it could have easily sold for thousands on etsy or something or an art gallery. Wow, wow, and wow. I need to work harder in my life. Great job on everything!!!

I’m a retired dental hygienist and I used four pallets that I picked up free to make a hanging garden unfortunately pallets don’t work well outside in the California weather so one of them after a few years fell off the wall but the connections are still good I think I’m gonna repeat it but I’m gonna Revise it. A little bit pallets are wonderful and you work is amazing. It popped up on my UKposts when I couldn’t sleep and I was hooked. I spent couple hours watching your Construction and with envy since my hands are not working like they used to. I’m going to share your videos with my grandkids, you are amazing and I am the people that purchase your useful artwork. Online and that elevated Desk is absolutely gorgeous.

Umm... It's not because it's California weather... Wood in general does not do well with moisture for long periods, and since a hanging garden would receive its fair share of water you were lucky that it held for that long. Wood gets soft and weak due to moisture. You should maybe seal the wood beforehand the next time round.

The fastest way of taking the pallets apart is a low profile car jack. It works just have to start in the middle a little at a time so you don’t break them. I like what you’re doing. I made a shed for my generator, ready-made walls and doors the sheaf is 6’ x 8’ every all the wood components of this was left over from other projects. But now that I’ve seen your project gave more ideas for more projects. Thanks Dan

yucca! No yuks at all. I loved your video! I'm a 77 year old female who loves to build things. I redid my entire house inside and used aspen and maple. Its really beautiful. The wood was harvested, sawed, dried, planed right on my land so its really wonderful to work with. Your video makes me want to try doing something with pallets! Most of all, I love your attitude about everything you do...the good, the challenging, and the ideas! God bless and may you have a really bright, happy journey doing the things you love to do!

Yucca! nice to see someone who shows their mistakes as well as victories, sometimes you can learn more from something going wrong instead of it all being nicey nicey and perfect, I've made my own share of mistakes over the years and learned from every one of the... Usually not to do it that way next time lol

I think it's great that you track your time as well as your overhead. So many DIY's don't take into consideration how their time is valuable and should be taken into consideration when the job is finished. Good going, I'm going to look at my pallets differently from now on.

You are a very good instructor clear on every part you discuss what and why you are doing all along the way. Good job on everything you have done. Some comments I've read with concern with safety showing public because not everyone is as seasoned as you are and will hurt themselves. But some things would be for your safety you want to keep your body parts Intact. If you make the extra effort to be safe because I love listening and watching all the way through. This is first video 8 have watched of yours impressive to say the least. You do a great job selling your finished products as well it shows the passion you have with what you do.

WOW, that first project was great. I’m so anxious to start a pallet project but still trying to figure out what to do first. Im tool limited to a small circular saw, a drill and an impact driver but I’ve got the drive & motivation to do it (which I know will get me going). Not to mention (6) free pallets I picked up a couple weeks ago. Looking forward to project #2 You’ve got a new “Subscriber here” from Southern California 🙌🏼
