I also have great gratitude especially to my friend Rodrigo and Rafael da Prospectiva informática, where each one mentioned above, has a small participation in my works, within their possibilities.
- I made this Stirling Alfa engine, along with this video tutorial, with the aim of facilitating and simplifying the construction of the Alfa model, for public presentations. Where I released on video every step-by-step motor assembly, plus some fundamental information for operation, with the least possible friction and perfect seal.
- I recommend the use of metal tipped syringes, making it easier to seal the metal tip with the tubes, due to the presence of high temperatures, avoiding the need for special tools and avoiding drag of the air passage. Because in the glass tip syringe, engine performance is limited with its reduced internal orifice.
"I remember glass syringes are not subjected to aggressive thermal shocks, such as touching the lamp wick in the syringe when heated, risking to crack them.
- Another aspect of fundamental importance, the connecting rods must not move in the lateral direction, due to an irregularity of the metal where the connecting rod is affixed to the crankshaft, thus avoiding an increase of friction of the piston on the cylinder.
- The dead area of the cold cylinder is 1 ml (with total travel of 18mm) and 3 ml in the hot cylinder (with total travel of 17mm).
- In the first test, the hot piston had a total stroke of 28mm, the engine presented a disastrous performance (500 RPM) and a very bad torque. With reduction of course to 18mm, the reduction of the mechanical energy consumption of the engine itself, to overcome the high compression, there was an improvement in the performance for 1000 RPM and a significant increase of the torque. One of the factors of this limitation is the thermal inefficiency of the glass of the syringe, since the glass is a poor thermal conductor, for that reason this limited result.
- Proven test: I also confirm that the engine would double the performance if a test tube was installed, as a heat exchanger (exchanger), I believe that the performance would be even better if the exchanger were made of stainless steel.
- I want to thank all the other people who watch my videos as well as those who subscribe to my channel.
