The finishes aren't shown probably because they'd hurt ppv sales but if that's the case then how do media outlets like BT Sport get away with showing them after the ppvs.

That's no the reason at all. I don't know why they don't show the KOs. They learned it don't hurt them when they tried to shut down the spread of Jorge flying knee because it literally made him into a star and for people to buy his PPVs who not only didn't buy the one he done it on but wouldn't watch UFC.
