Demian Maia so good that I just learned something when he went to shoot for the takedown and almost got cought in a guillotine looking like state. Although Usman hands wasnt griped together still Maia knew what it was and immediately changed position and cancel the take down and went straight up to more of a clinch forcing it almost looking like he's going for his back. To reduce pressure. Beautiful 😎

As an old wrestler,and a youth wrestling coach one thing that drives me nuts is how Commentators call takedowns. I know it is MMA,and not wrestling,but the first "takedown" they call is at 4:49 where they said Maia took Usman down. While he did take him to the ground Usman immediatly countered with a Whizzer which he used to get right back to his feet without Maia ever establishing any kind of control or dominance. In Folkstyle no points would be awarded for a takedown. Once again,I know this is MMA and not Folkstyle,but I wish they would call it a take down attempt rather than a takedown.
