When I use to box in my hometown league I made it my mission to perfect that liver shot. Most boxers I faced always guard their head and neglect the body. Those liver shots are freaking painful.

They should be used more often, they seem to be a low risk high reward technique. Best part about the bodyshot is that the body is usually covered in muscle and fat, providing an excellent cushion for powerful bare knuckle punches with little risk of hand injury.
