I was surprised to like this song the first time I heard it because I don’t like rap vary often. I learned the lyrics of the chorus and thought “a man who still wants a lullaby while realizing his mother is turning gray. That’s not your typical rap topic. I loved the choreography. Simple and engaging yet it didn’t remind me of anything else. Then I saw the alternative translation over the war zone video. … That imagery along with the slight translational emphasis on mother country over simply mother, amplified everything by 11. If you haven’t seen today’s video you should.

I keep seeing the same and it makes no sense. There are a lot of good songs in this year like Albania, Netherlands, France, and Cyprus. But to me this one is the more unique and has the most musicality and that something that make it amazing. If it wins, it will win because of its merits. It's an amazing song. I hope people vote for it because of how much they love it not as a sympathy vote. Kalush Orchestra deserves better than that.

I absolutely agree. I don't understand the lyrics but this song makes me cry everytime. And it happens with other songs of ESC even if I don't understand the language. There's something in singing in mother tongue that's, I'd say, mystical. And I love it! And I love this song, too. Слава Україні!
