I find this so bizarre, Putin has just signed papers declaring annexation, shortly after declaring he will use nuclear weapons if the Russian territory is invaded. Now Ukraine just rolls into these areas and sits there thinking that the Kremlin isn't just waiting for the wind to change to a westerly direction... I hope I'm wrong but it could be some kind of nuclear honeydicking.
@richardb8080
@richardb8080 Рік тому
A nuclear strike is unlikely as even Putin can't be mad enough to think he can control the weather and, even if the wind is blowing westerly during a blast, if it changes direction afterward, Russia is screwed as they will be covered in radioactive fallout, which is why dropping a nuke on a neighbouring country is a very bad idea indeed. Also, tactical nukes work in old fashioned war situations when thousands of troops and tanks are gathered in one area, but this isn't how modern warfare works. Ukraine uses small mobile units, and Ukraine is massive, so a tactical nuke would give Russia virtually no strategic advantage anyway, not to mention that that will bring NATO into the war directly and Russia will be destroyed. However, given that Putin is clearly not of sound mind , and unlike in Soviet times, there is no politburo to take out a leader who has lost his faculties, there is always a risk that he may use a nuke or fire multiple nukes. We have to hope that this doesn't happen or if it does, someone will shoot him before he can press the button.

Ukraine doing some good work, let's just hope they don't start trying to take back too much of the annexed land because I don't think Russia was blushing when they said they would use smaller tactical nukes. If Russia doesn't launch small tactical nukes, then they definitely would if Ukraine starts taking back Crimea. (Before people start moaning saying that Putin wouldn't dare because NATO and everything like that, I think you are partly wrong. If anything, a tactical nuclear strike would be good for Russia because it could really test NATO's will to help Ukraine, because the only thing NATO could do to step up is launch a small tactial nuke into Russia which would just spiral into nuclear Armageddon. And in my opinion Russia would be a lot more powerful in a nuclear war than NATO, partly due to the fact they can launch a nuke as quickly as they want, as the US has to rely upon nuclear armed Submarines. Also, NATO doesn't really have much of a plan to survive nuclear war, as Russia has a well backed-up plan to save most of its population in the case of a nuclear war. Also, Russia has that behemoth of a nuclear torpedo, which could practically drown most of the US'S coastline and basically decimate any country the size of Britain, from so far away it could launch it from its own country, not needing to get close to the targeted country. *I'm sorry if you disagreed with me but that's my opinion, I'm not trying to fear-monger people, but I honestly don't think NATO would do much if Russia launched a small nuclear strike against Ukraine. Before you say "I'm blinded by Russian propaganda" I'm not, I just look at both sides of media and propaganda, both western and Russian and accumulate an assumption closest to the known facts and statistics* I guess we'll just have to wait and see what really happens, again I don't want to start arguing with anyone over stuff we can't fully predict until it happens.

@@privateer7766 yea I know what your talking, the US’ anti-ICBM programme isn’t the best, partly due to the fact that many ICBM’s have advanced technologies to avoid such things, unless the US is hiding something big like a laser satellite then the US doesn’t really have much power when it comes to defending against more advanced Russian nukes. The violent deaths of Iraqi civilians have occurred through aerial bombing, shelling, gunshots, suicide attacks, and fires started by bombing. Many civilians have also been injured. Because not all war-related deaths have been recorded accurately by the Iraqi government and the U.S.-led coalition, the numbers are likely much higher. Several estimates based on randomly selected household surveys place the total death count among Iraqis in the hundreds of thousands. Several times as many Iraqi civilians may have died as an indirect result of the war, due to damage to the systems that provide food, health care and clean drinking water, and as a result, illness, infectious diseases, and malnutrition that could otherwise have been avoided or treated. The war has compounded the ill effects of decades of harmful U.S. policy actions towards Iraq since the 1960s, including economic sanctions in the 1990s that were devastating for Iraqis. Despite more than $100 billion committed to aiding and reconstructing Iraq, many parts of the country still suffer from lack of access to clean drinking water and housing. A long long time ago, back in the days before men could get pregnant and there were strange cults championing wacky ideas such as free speech and women’s rights, nazis were considered to be bad guys. So bad in fact that a whole generation sacrificed itself trying to eradicate them and subsequent generations were taught to fear and loathe them across the world. Now it seems their reputation is rehabilitated in the West and we think they’re actually good guys whom we love and support dearly. Maybe that’s because they always had such lovely uniforms and smart badges although I’m not sure the Ukrainian nazis dress as elegantly as their ideological forebears tbh? Go figure.
