I myself was extremely skeptical until I saw the whole process and build of RC1. Yes, it’s important to note that the RC-1 is exactly that: a concept build. But also that this is entirely possible to build an overland rig that’s unlike any other.

butt joint drawer boxes LOL. Didn't bother to match the grout lines in the shower tiles. White caulk when the tiles have black. Plywood build with no edge banding. Didn't bother to finish the back doors. Details matter when trying to be a "luxury" builder. This is amazing comedy. Great grift though if it works.

For $750k I'd want tinted IR windows with additional security film, a multi-channel security camera system, and a central vacuum. Without those items I'm sorry, but the most I pay would be $699k. Do love the look and functionality of the electrical.

Need to add 360 live stream cameras for security and 3 threamal drones that are controlled by a computer just to take of and fly in a security pattern at a push of a button then fly back to the top on the van doc and recharge.. they can also be set up for you navigation at Night hooked up to a camera can give you instant 3d mapping. That is worth $750k maybe.. That being said great van I wish your company the best if you ever need a sales person let me know I would love to drive your vans around the country full time. In 9 months thanks

Custom build for $750 k... but 90% of the concepts and layout are what we've seen 100s of time before, except the smaller hidden things and use of high end tech and expensive materials. Money can't buy class and sense. This build should be mind blowing with concepts and layouts we never seen for that amount 😆 This is like a cartel member's van man hahaha! Beautiful! No towels inside my shower/steam room for me. So we'll thought-out and then that. Made it stand out glaringly. Unless there's a way all of that stays waterproof that wasn't shown. Having to remove it doesn't make sense in such a high-class rig. Very innovative, though!

Do we know what the weight of this rig is? Single rear tires indicate 2500. and a lot of 3/4 inch high-quality plywood, huge tires, plus all the accessories has me thinking this is way over GVWR. I am struggling with this on my build and am wondering if they have any magic materials they are using.

Makes no difference what the axle is. It’s about the chassis strength. The rear of the bus is cantilevered over the rear axle a long way. The chassis material thickness is only 1.5mm sheet metal box section.

This was so fun to see. All the most outrageous overkill options! It’s like a supermarket! I’ll have one of those benchtops. That fridge. Don’t need the steam room the coffee machine or all the TV’s. But give me an outdoor cooking option, a bigger pantry and that lifted body. Such fun 😃 The walnut & epoxy timberwork was stunning. I love the davit, I’ve been wanting to put one on just to hoist my spare tire off & on. Heavy bugger it is! I also love your black & yellow. It’s one of my favourite colour schemes.

Absolutely stunning what these guys have put together. Im struggling to figure out where they put everything that was talked about. I have an Onyx RCR and ever since I saw this thing featured at Sema, I knew that one day I will put a davit on my van. They have truly succeeded in showcasing their abilities as builders with this van. Bravo!!! Why is it so hard for some people to understand that this is a CONCEPT Van? Dumba$$es!!

I enjoyed listening to Santiago. He is a brilliant, most likely a genius, but without arrogance. He's pretty cool. I loved his attire. The van for $750K is well out my range but there are aspects that I will add to my ideas list that I will use in my van conversion. I have been living and traveling in my GMC Savana for over two years. All I am concerned with is comfort. If a change or addition adds to my level of comfort affordably then I will go for it. I cut out the part he hasn’t weighed it yet but unofficially he believes it to be around 10,500lbs. The amount of after market suspension that went into this van it can handle that weight with no issues. The mpg will go down is all

I appreciate the thought process, the attention to detail, the out of box thinking and innovation. I have to say that while it won’t be in the majority of people’s budgets, it will be a no brainer for those that buy private jets or yachts. Especially if you live in a state that has fires, tornados, hurricanes etc. This is a very nice “Get out of Dodge” vehicle. Especially if you are a fan of the walking dead. Just missing spokes on the side and rifle mounts. Missed if there was a cooktop and a fridge-freezer is a must. Love the steam shower after ski or on cool evenings. Question, is there a lock inside the steamer or only on the outside?

But it is not a Klassen.😮 There does seem to be a large portion of Californication in this build 🤔 It could be a statement piece but for $500k you can get a full expedition truck from Krug Expedition on a Mercedes truck. Which would be a more comfortable statement piece 🤔 Or live aboard a cruise ship for 10 years at $65k-$70k a year. 😮

Really don't like the yellow doors. I built cabinets across the upper backdoors. Not in the way of the bed and all you really see are the back windows. I never see many van builds using this out of the way large space. Great storage for bulky items. My side upper cabinets stop before the bed to give a open feel to the sleeping area.

That is an amazing display of what is possible. I'm sure there's someone willing to pay that much or more for that work of art. The interior is so beautiful and the details all come together. I'm sure RVC could meet requests for other styles and other creative concepts in future custom builds. Really impressive. I'm looking forward to the electrification of public school buses because we will see a flood of retired buses entering the used market. Vans are perfect for the active adventuring lifestyle, but I'm also very interested converting school buses into all sorts of solar punk workhorses for regenerative agrivoltaics ecovillages. Solar power to the people!

Yo, people! You do understand that this is a SHOW/CONCEPT van. It’s meant to show what CAN be done, not what must be done. It’s their business and if they didn’t go “all out”, they wouldn’t be able to capture all the possibilities within their range. $750k, considering materials, craftsmanship, and ingenuity, this is an absolutely amazing outcome. Bravo! In my budget? Nope. Should I get lucky with the lottery I never play, this would definitely be a contender.

For added security to make sure the tools don't fall just add some neodymium magnets In the backing board to really shut up the people that think the tools will fall out. That will pretty much lock the tools in place

I believe Mercedes has that listed on their specs and I think it’s 250lbs 🤔 but I could be wrong. I know each door are different weights for some reason

Interesting van! I think if you have 750.000 you should get another platform which gives way more usable room. It is just to crammed inside. And the tongue and groove gave me a feel of "ok that looks cheap" and for 750.000 I want a custom trashcan instead of a dollar store one 😄 If I had 750k I would go Unimog 6x6 with crewcab or 4x4 european truck chassis with crewcab. And then a box from Unicat or Blissmobil.

Lipstick on a pig comes to mind. Sure, it's a very high-quality build. However, at the end of the day, it's still just a sprinter van for $750,000. Similar business model to EarthRoamer.

Alot of "FUN IDEAS" like an off-brand tinker toy. Disappointed. Understand your concept of "show van", but Safety Features, i.e. smoke/fire/security/type of wiring/emergency back-up systems never mentioned nor viewed. An air compressor with air tools more practical than Johnny's hand tools on the exterior. $20,000. in exterior light? Where ever they are hidden, I didn't see Pergo.

Comparing a Sprinter conversion to an Earth Roamer is the very definition of idiocy. You'd have to be utterly brain dead to not understand the difference in capability between an Earth Roamer LTi and this Sprinter van. Get real!

@dlg5485 Geez, so emotional. Your comprehension of my comment is incorrect. I'm not comparing the vehicles. I'm comparing business models. Both companies are targeting a small group of potential customers in the North American luxury overland sector who are willing to pay, in my opinion, an exorbitant price for what they're getting. Having said that, this business model has worked well across many different industries.

Very cool van, got to see it at the van show in Big Bear. I was showing my friend the wheels, and how I do not like the look of fake beadlock wheels and then someone associated with the company tried correcting me that they are in fact beadlock wheels, which was funny, as I could see the edge of the bead of the tire.

Yea it rode on real beadlocks which was a huge pain in the ass for about 8 months; we changed them just before that show

I like the imagination that went into it. While all of that is not for me it would take someone with an imagination to be able to help me really enjoy living in a van and making things accessible. I have my current service dog my two retired ones and they have a pet kitten. Well I would want something that would go off-road I don't need anything real Fancy Nancy cuz I'm not going to go too far off-road I'm not going to go crazy and then get stuck somewhere.

Awesome Concept to Showcase your options. How to make it worth $750k. Step One: Choose a different chassis. I love my Sprinter, but MB and all their recalls for what is essentially a sketchy software ladened metal box, is driving me nuts. If I had that kind of coin I’d be talking about a Mann Chassis or Earthroamer type build. Or, with $750k burning a hole in my pocket I could retire and explore for the next 20 years in style with a “Normal Priced” build.

Hey Jarrod do you know if any of these builders are hiring or where to even look if someone is interested in working in this industry? I’m a master electrician but have been really interested in custom van builds, and was wondering if these companies ever look to hire ppl from the trades. There are some builders hiring. How you find them is a better question. Some post on their website or instagram handles. You can also check the site Explorevanx and they I believe have job postings. You might have to make some calls to find the right builder but I’m sure it’s out there.

What I found refreshing was that the gentleman giving the tour knows exactly what he’s talking about. He obviously is very involved in each step of the process and is not just a salesman hyping a product. In the first few minutes, that was what I was expecting. I think he sold himself a bit short with the focus on himself with his appearance and the comical and unnecessary pretense. He tried to make himself the hook instead of the product, and the product is hook enough. I see what he means about the cafeteria. Only someone with new money, and too much of it would buy this product as a whole, But there is a lot to find like about the vehicle. No one is going to have drawers with foam cut outs of their knives, but it’s the level of customization, partnerships, and finish their end buyer will attract. Anyone who could afford this van would stay in a seven star resort. Who wants to get sand in their walnut floors? 😂
