It comes with a magstripe reader bundled in case you have to make a transaction swipe instead of an inserted chip. I'd say its good for the price for what you get but wait for sales. Both Amazon and Best buy have them occasionally for $40.

I spoke with them if having NFC was necessary and they also said no, so if you are using a budget phone with just Bluetooth, then you should also not be worried although I still would recommend getting one just in case for future proofing. It comes with the mag stripe reader in case a customer doesn't have emv chips yet or doesn't have NFC payment option.
