Yo. I'm coming from Guga. This is the first time I ever watched an Uncle Roger video. Can you believe how much of a shock 8:44 was for me?

Yeah its pretty great. The whole anti-MSG thing got started in the US since it was used ALOT on really cheap crappy foods like packaged snacks and canned meats, as well as really shitty restaurant food. Alot of people rallied against it after some people noticed they felt sick after eating at asian restaurants that used it but it's more likely they just got sick off all the salt, sugar, and oil really crappy restaurants use on everything. Some of the really low quality sauces they use in cheap asian restaurants can be 25-50% sugar and 1 tablespoon can have most of the salt you should have in a day, so a bowl of cheap teriyaki can have like 60-80g of sugar and like 4 times the salt you should have in a day. Combine that with the fact that cheap restaurants use alot of sauce and seasoning to cover up low quality meat and you've got a recipe for an upset stomach, so its not hard to see why people sometimes got sick off of it and since "Monosodium Glutimate" sounds like a scary chemical you can see why people would blame it for feeling crappy when it was actually just the lethal dosage of salt and sugar they just downed, and they'd probably have felt just as sick if they had an equally unhealthy meal at an american diner. MSG has been a "dangerous food additive" ever since.
