I was married for 10 years. I didn’t understand at the time that I was extremely controlling and a serious micro manager. My wife left me obviously and good for her. I was so embarrassed I didn’t tell anyone not even family for 4 months. Again my control issues made me so hurt and angry and embarrassed I didn’t want to admit I lost control of “my” wife. That’s been 20 years ago and I never married again because of the fear I will just do it again. I realize what I was I apologized to my ex wife and we both have happy lives separately now. I have a father that would just shake his empty glass of ice so my mother would come running to fill it up. I know now where I learned my behavior but It is my responsibility to own it and learn to control it. Thankfully I believe I did but I never want to chance it again with another human beings life.

My father left my extremely controlling mother when I was two. He never remarried as he never wanted to be in that position ever again. I had a brief marriage in my late teens, but, like my father, I never wanted to be in a controlling relationship again, so I also never remarried. I brought up my child on my own, and 12 years ago, I estranged myself from my controlling mother. Sometimes you just have to realise that the relationship path is not for you, and to just create a life that you enjoy!! So, I agree with what you are saying - live your life for yourself, and on your own terms. Stay well

Despite your previous behaviour and actions, the fact that you attained self awareness, self reflection and self responsibility and took the action to learn and grow from it, along with apologising and atoning for your behaviour and actions, shows that you are not a narcissist or psychopath. Bravo for not repeating the cycle of abuse and understanding how and why you were how you were. That takes work and that takes courage. I grew up in an abusive, dysfunctional and toxic large family with a father psychopath. Only myself and 1 brother, both of us being black sheep of the family, have not turned into narcissists and as such have now gone no contact with the rest of the family. Thanks for your comment.

Not many people are this aware of their shortcomings. I'm sure it meant a lot that you owned up to your ex wife. So, kudos for that.

@@karonmcgregor4753 Surely if you found someone you wanted to be with you could forewarn them and say IF I start doing XY or Z rein me in, tell me I'm doing it and if you truly want to change you will stop?? Just a thought. I spent the first few years of marriage getting so angry at my husband for things i thought he should have done and one day he simply said "I don't do hints just tell me" plain sailing ever since. If he is doing something annoying or not doing something I want him to do I just tell him, same with him and its so much easier. I truly believe the secret to a happy relationship is talking. Good luck whatever you decide to do but i just hate the thought of someone being lonely because they are scared of what they "might" do :0) x

These poor children. Their parents put them through hell while all this drama played out. Can you imagine being in that house while all the screaming was going on? And the daughter who earned an academic honor but wasn’t allowed to accept her award? Of course the end was horrific - but they obviously suffered on a daily basis. So sad.

Great case Emma.. what a truly evil man! I don’t think he killed himself either... he’s too arrogant to do that! It really does sound as if that man is Canada was him, of course he’d get his finger prints changed! They should have done more tests. It’s sickening to know he’s still living his life care free!

I have been thinking about this case since it was posted. I agree Emma that this (pitiful excuse for a) man is still out there. The way his family were slaughtered was so cowardly that I can guarantee that his choices after the crimes were also cowardly. Cowardly individuals do not commit suicide. You first have to overcome the instinct of survival and that takes real guts and desperation. If he had any intentions of ending his life he would have remained in the family home after lighting the candle that ignited the gas. Once again Emma, thank you for your hard work and dedication to all subject matter. Long may it continue.

Do you think it's possible that if he did alter his fingerprints, did he have that done prior to him disappearing and is that why he gave his wife's car such a good clean so they didn't find the unknown fingerprints? I think it's plausible that he planned the whole thing days maybe weeks beforehand, got his fingerprints sorted, planned the explosion (also eliminating any fingerprints) and went on to a whole new life.. But.. if they had found strange fingerprints in the home or car, that could've messed up the whole thing?? Thanks for another great show Miss Kenny, I hope the Mid-Week Murder Club is gonna be a regular event. Be Safe 'n' Be Lucky every1 ✌️

Yes Sally-Anne. A very good point. Because why else bother wiping down the wife's vehicle of prints?? I think you're correct. It could waste his new identity. Honestly, that was very bright of him. -- Only I still do not understand how one can have their fingerprints changed. Fisher clearly had this planned. Makes ya wonder why he would bother arguing with his wife. Maybe giving it chances so that he would not feel like he has to go through with it. Although, the wife was probably doing all of the arguing. It is almost impossible for a relationship to survive an affair. Ms. Strawberry, you make an excellent point.

I hate it when parents make the child get involved, I've not been with my daughter's day for 10 years (she's 18 soon) as we still take her for a meal on her birthday, if she wants a day with us both then that's fine, we fell out of love with each other but we both still love our daughter, we both come from broken homes and we know how it impacted on us so we swore that we'd NEVER make our daughter basically choose who she loves more because that's how the child sees it

*Greetings from the states, Emma! 🇺🇸 Just wanted to take a moment to tell you (what seems to be the popolur opinion amongst most comment sections I've seen of your channel thus far)...you are a gift to us all in the true crime UKposts community! I was already familiar with you from television of course and, was always an admirer of your work, education and insight. That being said though, I think there's something about the perceived intimacy of watching you on UKposts that has made me seem to be enjoying you even more on this channel! You are SO perfect in your presentation (again, much like I'd seen you on television), but again, it feels more intimate on this platform. Speaking for myself anyway, it kind of feels like we're just two friends who have an intrest in True Crime, psychology and the like, having tea (only, ONE of us is a bit more formally educated with actual experience in the field...and it certainly isn't me!) 😉 And while superficial, I also enjoy your flawless look! I feel like not many people can pull off discussing such serious subject matter while rocking a Misfits t-shirt (for ex as, I've enjoyed all your outfits/tops), but....you do and you do it so well! It's cool to see some of your own unique style and thus your personality, shine through in that way. 😎 Anyway, I have NO doubt your channel is going to blow up and truly feel blessed to watch you in this way as well as learn from your own knowledge, education, experience and incredible storytelling ability. Thank you for starting this channel that I became addicted to immediately! 😁 Not that you'll need it but, I wish you the best of luck here and with any other endeavors you may explore! 👍 Continued support and much love from this stranger and fan in New York!* ❤😘

You are the best at true crime , sorry this is monsters and that chapter, whom I both love , but Emma dives in from a completely different perspective and it's refreshing, thanks for all the hard work!

It is so apparent the actual interest and passion she has for crime as a whole. Not a preoccupation with shock or a morbid obsession with a "killers mind", I love her series bc it hits right on target with my own view and interest of crime as a whole picture, with motivation being a major talking point. Not only motivation or the perpetrator but of the victim as well. Plus great taste in music🤓✌️. Keep up the great work. Kudos from Chicago.

Full credit to you for researching these stories and bringing them to us. This case reminded me of a case closer to home of Christopher Foster of Osbaston House, only he did commit suicide after destroying everything. I think in the documentary they did afterwards, they believed it was a case of 'if I can't have it, no one can'. Incredibly sad. J.

I am a gun owner. Understanding and practicing gun safety is extremely important. It's best to learn while still young so it will be second nature as an adult. Guns don't just go off on their own and start shooting, an ignorant person is always behind the gun pulling the trigger whether willfully or recklessly. You have to learn how to properly handle a firearm ie; never have your finger on the trigger even if the safety is on, up until the moment you have to shoot. Always handle the firearm as if it is loaded and cocked, proper way to hold it while firing, being cognizant of where you are aiming, how to dismantle it to clean it/transport it, etc. Uneducated legal gun owners and criminals who don't practice proper firearm safety and protocol are a danger to themselves and others. I know that most people (esp outside of the US) are against ownership of firearms because that is your country's way of living/belief, but I value my right to own them and I take proper handling of such very seriously, as should anyone who is around them at all. And I don't like hunting either, makes me sad☹️ Love your channel, Emma💖

I've been watching you for several years now on different TV shows (true crime) & you were the first person I ever heard talk about coercive control. I've been w/my husband for 24 yrs & married for 23 & to say that I deal w/CC on a daily basis would be an understatement. I cannot even think for myself anymore & I cannot make decisions on even a simple task for myself. I've said so many times that a beating would be better because at least I would heal afterwards. I don't mean to minimize any situation where a partner is being abused physically but I can say that emotional abuse doesn't heal easily & most of the time you aren't even aware it's happening..

oh my love, you do not need to stay in this situation. I know it isn't easy just leaving, I unseratnd that life can feel daunting, but you deserve more. Imagine a life without these fears and feelings, where you can live totally freely. Please consider reaching out x

It's Emma time!! In South Africa the hunters also does that, if it's your first kill you get smeered with blood and you need to eat the raw liver of the animal. I actually have family doing this. So disturbing
