Enjoy this journey! That is some advice I can give. My husband and I moved from So. Calif with are 9 yr old daughter and 3yr old twin boys to Eastern Oregon 30 years ago!! Sold our house quit our jobs and moved to a place we had never been. I have a sister that lived in Oregon and my daughter went out to Oregon to visit my sister 30 years ago and took the video camera. We saw the video and fell in love with it. So we took the leap no jobs but had some money from the sale of our house. We bought a piece of property with a double wide mobile home and a old farmhouse. We found jobs and have never looked back. We moved to a small town population of 400 at the time. So in a blink of an eye 30 years have gone by and I so cherish the journey. God bless Donna

My husband and I drove from 60 miles north of Sacrament CA to St. Louis MO via southern CA in a 24ft truck towing a smalll car with 3 kids and 3 cat. Kids up front on the single bench with us. Very crowded but so worth the change. This was so life changing. I know you find your self dividing the before and the after the move as we did.. We would have changed nothing. So glad we did it. Hope your move is as equally adventurous as ours was and with prayers for safe driving.

I lived in Arkansas 3yrs ago, what I learned is the fireflies are awesome,the ticks not. Fall foliage is so beautiful. A heat pump for furnace is a must cuz we were told if you got a problem drive way(ours had a incline) like maybe the steam the gas company were going to charge an extra 100 dollars for delivery. And have a alternative heat like a fireplace cuz the storms knock out power sometimes. Some solar power and lights to would be great if power goes out from the cool looking but big storms out there.sign up to a church helps to get to know good ppl and your community. And driving around the state some areas have narrowed road's that are on the edge of a hill/mountain with couple of inches on the shoulder of the road that just drops off no gaurd rails or anything scary. Otherwise enjoy yourselves cuz it's gorgeous out there lakes ,waterfalls, hunting ,site seeing, shopping, hiking, picnics, and more. I loved it there I'll be back sometime for good.

We are enjoying doing what we want to do, My wife was born where we live now. When I was young I lived in Kansas for awhile. You will enjoy the four seasons here, One piece of advice, watch out for poison snakes when you all in the woods. And they are out crawling now, Maybe we could all get together sometime when you all get settled in. FYI flea ,tick and heartworm for animals. Heartworm is a big killer in the east...and south. I use advantage multi...covers hookworm,roundworm, and whipworm. Plus a type of mange. Please dont forget. SPCA and some discount place will do half price. In the woods you will have all the parasitic stuff that the desert had so few.Hugs guys.

good luck you guys! I was under the impression that you had ALREADY made two trips back. We are in the process of selling our home and buying in Idaho. We are older (66 yrs old) so we will not be living "off the land", but hopefully a nice garden. I had a blood clot in my left leg and lost it (all the way up to my butt! :( , so prostethic won't work for me ) a few years ago, and our home has steps to go to the living room and then two more to get into the kitchen. Wheelchairs don't do well on those steps LOLOL. I'm pretty sure I would go crazy traveling that far with kids, tho I did it by myself when my two were young, therefore so was I!. I love watching your dreams come true so keep up the videos!

I mis read the miles and ran out of gas in the left lane on the way to a doctor's appointment and I was rescued by a couple of polite, nice black men!
